1:40 Just in case anyone is ever in this situation, don’t let them hook to your wheel like they’re doing here. It’s a good way to pull the wheel and hub right off the car, if not some of the suspension as well. And that ESPECIALLY goes for some good samaritan that doesn’t have any way to cover the damage when it inevitably happens.

People were told to stay home, now wait until the spring

    • Ryan M says:

@Frank Mahoney Are you dumb, it’s literally called a tow hook. That’s quite literally what it’s there for.

@Steve Eddy, these cars aren’t that fragile. You can get away with doing this to recover a car but you’ll probably need a front end alignment afterward.

    • S. Hooper says:

@Frank Mahoney, The point he’s talking about is right behind a little plastic piece that pops out to expose a threaded hole where you can thread in a hook loop made specifically for pulling a stuck car out of the mud/snow to prevent damaging the bodywork. The tie down points for transporting a car are underneath either bolted to or stamped into the chassis or subframe.

Grew up in Western NY. I remember my pop shoveling a tunnel out our front door, kids everywhere building forts, sled runs, monumental snowball wars, youth doing donuts in their cars in parking lots and lots of JOY! Good times!!! (Plus lots of cocoa, dangling mini snowballs on mittens and 5 foot icicle swords)
Almost forgot: SNOW DAY- no school!

This was a normal occurrence when I was a kid where I grew up on the shore of lake Ontario. We’ve had it easy these last 25 years here in upstate NY… Rarely does this happen anymore. It was very common to get 3 or 4 feet in one solid blast when I was a kid. I remember being “snowed in” a lot. Dad would plow the driveway with an Allis Chalmers 190XT three or four times in a day sometimes. Great for snow forts, snow tunnels and such.. Great memories of a 40 year old..

Considering how much snow they received they really know how to deal with it.

The beauty of Buffalo snow is unparalleled, a great city covered in white.

I remember having a snow even worse than this back in the early 70’s, in Iowa. My husband had to leave our car on the side of the road and walk home. When we went back to get it, we had trouble finding it and digging it out. The snow was so deep that it was as high as the car. Had never seen anything like it. And this was in April. Very unusual.

Been living in buffalo all my life. It’s a normal part of life around here. We get stuff done snow or shine. Woke up 5 am this morning and got the neighborhood sidewalks shoveled. Everyone else was outside too doing their part. Gotta love the weather!!!!

It’s like that one area of New York is stuck in a snow globe that’s constantly being shaken around. Insane how lake effect snowstorms work. Absolute wild snowstorm.

    • Kelly Christine says:

      It is like that lol.

@Vegas Aviation22ummm…no. They’ve gotten tons more in the past Google it.

@Vegas Aviation22 Only certain areas got record breaking snow. Mostly in the southern tier. That’s ski country anyways so i’m sure they’ll be just fine. Much of Buffalo and the surrounding suburbs didn’t get that much tbh. I should know. I drove all around the region today and the thruway I was on was so clear you could see pavement.
