This show is getting more and more professional as it goes, but without ever losing its sense of humor and humility to the food and the people who worked so hard to create it.

  2. ItsColdOutside says:

That first chef was so pure. His spot looked so unassuming from the outside but you can tell how passionate and authentic he is. Hope he gets an increase in traffic to his restaurant from this he deserves it

and i loved how he said fisherfolk instead of fishermen, it’s the little things😭🙌

      What a surprise

    • grooviest says:

@Peter A. Loch I’m sure he washes his hands which is the most important thing. Even when wearing gloves, you should still wash your hands to avoid cross contamination. Sometimes people wear gloves but don’t wash their hands which just gives a false sense of cleanliness

    • Kipp Kipp says:

From what he was saying i had to check again to make sure his was the cheap place. With the food all being local and the knowledge and technique he had with the ingredients I figured he had to be the expensive one.

    • Peter A. Loch says:

Anyone noticed he DID NOT have gloves on while handled the fish

  3. Henrique says:

It’s so cool to see Andrew when the chef is explaining the food. It’s just pure happines

      @JennyLS parasocial relationshiop

After watching his process learning about food over lockdown and on this channel with his solo projects and projects with Inga and Rie and Alvin, I feel like I know him in such a close way. I can pick up the nuances of a certain expression. It’s weird, right? How do I know Andrew better than I know people in my real life?

Something I’ve really been noticing and loving about the episodes lately is how great the segment is with the chefs they visit. Everyone they speak to is so articulate and thoughtful in how they talk about their food and their choices and the ecosystem they’re part of. It’s becoming my favorite part of the episodes.

    • Gaiden says:

@CuriosityKilledTheCat yup, they got too focussed on the price tag for the last dish than the actual quality. I’ve enjoyed this down to earth style

    • CuriosityKilledTheCat says:

@Gaiden i like it better this way tbh, those $500+ dishes with all the bells and whistles (caviar, truffle, gold leaf) didn’t even seem that good, just ostentatious for the sake of it and inaccessible for the large majority of the people watching this. All of these places I can try and are definitely worth it

    • Gaiden says:

I think they’ve had a clear drop in budget as to the final main dish, but it’s making them go out of their way to find more dishes that are “expensive” but truly worth the work the chef puts in. We see more people passionate about their job

  5. Kristy says:

I’m impressed that Adam knew what that squash looked like and wanted Andrew and Steven to see it. He’s more of a foodie than we knew.

As an NC Native, this was so good to watch. We have a wide range of cuisines that are not always highlighted. There is even a coastal community that speaks Elizabeathean English and has great seafood as well.

    • Justin Bouk says:

I’m not a native (my family moved to the south when I was young). There really is an incredible amount of amazing food in this state. Done properly, southern food truly is world-class

  7. Sim Hunter says:

so happy you guys went off on your own. NO MORE TRUFFLES AND CAVIAR EVERY EPISODE. Just proper GOOD food. Keep up the awesome work 🙂

  8. Joy Cabrera says:

I love how they’re like “Where’s Adam?” but Adam is just casually making his way to get a spoonful of oyster float goodness.

  9. Leo Briccocola says:

We’re gone from feeding Adam little tidbits to absolutely stuffing him and I’m all for it.

  10. greenlantern says:

I can’t tell if Adam never has food like this or if it’s his absolute favorite, but he seemed to really delight in this week’s menu.
