4:19 Had no idea but apparently a lot of enemies use talisman effects throughout the game such as the cleanrot knights, millicent’s sisters, and others

  3. YuviApp says:

Thank you Vaati for the shoutout about The Archstones. Ive shared my expereinces about Demon’s souls many times, but the game truly meant alot to me back then, and so stepping on board to help revive the game was a no brainer for me. As well I appricate all you do for the souls community too. All your lore videos are a true blessing for me 😀

  4. Edvard Didukh says:

I can’t quite explain it with reason, but watching your videos always gives me that warm, ephemeral sense of nostalgia that can’t quite be replicated. Thank you for being you, for some of us (myself included) it’s things like your content that help us keep at it. Excuse me while I go make myself a cup of tea and go re-binge the ‘Discovering Drangleic’ series)

@Skiieeeuuupp!!!! i think its more than that but his voice is very calming and relaxing. i like to fall asleep to some of his videos

    • Skiieeeuuupp!!!! says:

      It’s his voice

    • Gage Grogan says:

Yes indeed, I always get that warm feeling watching Vaati’s content. I stop everything I’m doing, sit down and just relax and enjoy every second of his videos. Thank you Vaati for helping all of us keep going. ❤

  5. maned vidales says:

I always thought Mildred was a callback from the Red Phantom that appeared in the swamp stage of Demon’s Souls (5-2) using the Meat Cleaver

    • This is the greatest username of all time. says:

That Demon’s Souls invader I swear was harder than any of the game’s bosses, though there’s a few npcs in the game like that funnily enough.

    • Ryan Carter says:

@hollandscottthomas Miralda is more like the Tarnish Hunter

    • hollandscottthomas says:

I was thinking of Executioner Miralda, but yours seems more likely.

    • aurllcooljay says:

Maybe acallback, but two different characters. The butcher knife seems inspired by the meat cleaver, especially since later games bring back its healing ability.

    • Russell Hattal says:

This is exactly what I came to see in the comment section. I feel validated now. Thank you.

  6. Sylas says:

For MtG inspirations, the whole Innistrad set and setting is basically Bloodborne, down to the predominant style of long-coats and conical hats, the theme of hunts, beasts and blood and even an underlying eldritch secret related to the moon

    • Lix0r says:

@david3de Also, both Bloodborne and Innistrad draw from the film Brotherhood of the Wolf.

    • david3de says:

@Ara Ara lemme fix my grammar, meant both games were inspired by Lovecraft lol

    • Ara Ara says:

You’re right about original Innistrad but Eldritch Moon came out after Bloodborne…

    • david3de says:

The Shadows Over Innistrad block and The Old Hunters DLC both draw inspiration from HP Lovecraft’s Shadows Over Innsmouth and pay homage to several of his other novels 🙂
I loved seeing eldritch horror make its way into mainstream media a few years back, gotta be my favorite horror subgenre

  7. Unclaimed Username says:

The mindflayers, and that stun+Grab combo, also appear in bloodborne.

    • Paula Kiesling says:

Those brainsuckers made me despise the Upper Cathedral Ward. I’m up to the Research Hall in the DLC, but the Upper Cathedral Ward is still my least favorite area of the whole game. I’m glad it’s such a small area, because it sucks. I didn’t realize until I was mostly done with the area that the brainsuckers are weak to bolt. I switched to the tonitrus and it made things so much easier for me. I still lost all my insight to those things and the Doll went inanimate until I got insight from finding and killing the Celestial Emissary.

  8. Lol You says:

Love this video, got really excited when u mentioned Ongbal. The man is a Souls god. His recent Elden Ring videos are so mesmerizing to watch.

So grateful for this community we have all built. So many different people’s seeking so many different bits of knowledge, and they are nice enough to curate that knowledge for us! Thank you to all the diggers and modders, without you we would be in an age of dark

  10. HISHAM A.N says:

It’s truly mind-boggling to me the amount of things that are hidden away in these games. It truly fleshes out the world & makes it feel lived in.
