Something that 3D could be really useful for is *precision platformers.* That Crash bridge level with the turtle jumping would probably be easier.
crash isnt precision platforming. its regular platforming but with a bad camera angle
Best version of shovel knight was on the 3DS imo. It was like playing a pop up book and made it MUCH easier to see the precise platforms.
I thought that jump was just tough because it was a Crash 2 level running on a remade Crash 3 engine
@Lambdafish easily beat that game in 2d
Would it be easier for Road to Nowhere or The High Road?
I’m glad that there’s VR now to really help 3D to shine. Now to wait for the games to catch up….
@Ivan Dekad half life Alyx is definitely a must-have system seller! It’s awesome! So is boneworks and more
the only problem is, you have to be rich to even own a console, let alone one that supports VR, and also need to be rich to buy a VR headset.
Consoles and VR are very much a mid to high class thing nowadays, while PC gaming…
is much more affordable.
@Ian Alias That’s a genius idea. I’m gonna do that when I get a VR headset one day
@Ivan Dekad No, once Bonelab releases, Stress Level Zero said PSVR 2 is possible. Bonelab and Boneworks are leagues better than HLA due to having a full body, two handed weapons, etc.
I have so many 3D blu-rays I picked up either from thrift stores or at bottom barrel prices on Amazon that I ripped to my computer so I could watch in VR. With no flickering and no headaches. Man the future kicks ass sometimes.
The way Scott switches from storytelling and explaining to quite literally some of the BEST humor in this platform… is very addictive.
As silly as some of these are, the each-player-sees-their-own-screen-on-one-screen thing with the PlayStation 3D TV is cool as fuck
One of my favorite parts about Scott’s content is that the humor is completely timeless. Most channels these days rely on memes or current trends to make jokes, which is potentially funny at the time, but it feels cheap and won’t make sense after like a month. Scott’s humor feels real and homemade, which is probably why his videos are so widely loved.
@SUPA SKILTZ Yeah but then it will just have a similar legacy as Yathzees “IPHONE GAMES”, dated but its good nonetheless.
@BlueToad07 Please do tell the differences then lol. Also, my initial point is that most youtubers don’t resort to memes like what you’ve implied. Saying that most channels just uses internet memes to be funny is so wrong. Most YouTubers don’t do that and are still entertaining
@Onin >starts reply with ‘i think’
>somehow not an opinion
ok bud
@Oimatejohnson Oimatejohnson because it’s not an opinion, it is a fact LOL
3D feels like a precursor to VR. People knew 3D was cool, and that it could do ‘something’, but the technology to do that ‘something’ just didn’t exist for a while.
Once computers became powerful enough, 3D was then able to evolve it’s hook, that something that was needed to make it more than a novelty.
As someone who’s recently gotten a Quest 2, I can definitely say that it’s evolved past being a novelty, tho I don’t think it’ll replace traditional games, like how 3D (graphics) games didn’t replace 2D games.
The concept of 2 players seeing separate things at the same time without two adjacent displays is actually a pretty fascinating idea, I want to know how it works, and that feature without the 3D, could be pretty cook to see in the future without todays big VR headsets that work, but I want to try that out and personally see if it actually looks like a totally different display, or if I can see parts of the other display.
Polarized glasses have two different poles, one for each eye, the split play was just making both eyes of one player first polarization and second player the other instead
Scott seems like the person to buy an entire Chipotle restaurant for a joke.
If Caddicarus can walk into a religious restaurant dressed like Christ Himself for a skit, Scott could hold a parade just to make one big joke for a video.
This dude attacked his camera for a joke. He is unstoppable.
if you slow the video down you can see it’s just extremely well edited lol
I mean ray william Johnson does that on the daily
Haven’t watched the video yet; now I’m scared.
Realy said” do it for the bit”
Lamo
17:30 holy shit that split screen thing sounds insane, i would have been sold on the idea with just that part
We had a LG TV that uses the cinema kind of cheap glasses that could do the split screen thing. I tried it with Mario Kart Wii and was kinda weird as it will stretch out the sections to make them full screen to your glasses
@l3rvn0 oh shiiit, that makes sense. that’s a pretty big catch indeed lol, i imagine that’s comparable to playing your games at 200% resolution scale or something
@Oimatejohnson Oimatejohnson The catch is the game has do run at double the framerate.
So to make a game run at 60FPS for both players, it must actually run at 120FPS
Back on the PS3, most games could barelly hold 30FPS
They still make TVs like this but aren’t that well known, I saw somebody playing games on it and other watching Netflix at the same time on a Reddit post. No idea how they do it with the audio though.
This would be amazing today for if you want to play with your friend but your screen is not very big you could use that instead
