I love the concept of friendship in this whole presentation. I can’t help but feel nostalgic for the friendships I acquired in my twenties when I watch Boygenius videos and interviews. Thanks for bringing me back to that time. I love the line in True Blue “When you don’t know who you are, you fuck around and find out”. How do they always know how to say things so well? Wishing the band so much success with this album.
For artists who write pretty directly, it’s a particularly clever line. It’s as easy to take it in a sad way or a messy, but hopeful way. Here’s hoping we all find a way to surround ourselves with people who strengthen us.
