we cannot let this era flop. E•mo•tion was one of the greatest pop records of this decade and we let it down. We cannot let it happen to this one 💜

I still listen to emotion on a daily basis, it’s such a good bop

    • TunaTank says:

Emotion was incredible, a lot deeper. This is bordering on Kiss, which isn’t a bad thing, I just think Emotion was significantly more complex musically

    • Adam Fenton says:

agreed. Kiss was a good record, but Emotion was really powerful and deserved better than what it got. I think the label had a bit to do with that with I Really Like You as the lead single—don’t get me wrong, that song is a masterpiece in itself, but to represent the album, I feel like people weren’t taking her as seriously as they would have had another song been chosen. anyways, Emotion was a beautifully put together record and Side B was just as good, too. her music really has an 80s vibe to it and I love it

    • TunaTank says:

+Adam Fenton agreed as well. I hope that’s the case here too. Which in all honesty is great, I hate when the best song is the single, and it ruins the rest of the album!

A few years ago I randomly bumped into Carly Rae Jepsen on the sweets of New York, she was just so sweet and I am so glad to see she has a strong fan base – buy and stream and buy and stream folks

I met Carly Rae Jepsen a couple years ago too (her hair was black back then) from an appearance she made on ABC for Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan (which is now known as Kelly and Ryan) show in the morning in which she was scheduled to be there for an interview with them to promote her television movie Grease which was a remake of the one from 1978. I sat in the front row seat in the studio and after an hour and a half, she finally showed up and I stuck my arm out to her when she came out on stage and she touched me, and then I pulled her towards me briefly. It wasn’t much, it was just that one little moment with her and that was it, it was on TV too but you can’t see my face (just my arm when she touched me).

    • jerel says:

She already was from Call Me Maybe several years ago in 2012, but hadn’t been seen in a while after that and then came back 3 years later in 2015 with her EMOTION album (which is now 3 years ago) then left again for a couple of years to make the next album and just came back now.

  18. Daud Rotama says:

She keeps making fantastic pop music, yet she remains underappreciated by large mass.
I want her to win big time. She deserves better success.

    • jerel says:

It’s because of all of the mainstream media attention she got from when Call Me Maybe was popular, there were so many people who made their own versions of it by lip syncing, dancing, parodying it and remixing it to the point where it got old, and people just saw Carly Rae Jepsen as a one hit wonder and nothing more. Which is why she’s underappreciated now, and it’s a shame because she was getting a lot of attention from Call Me Maybe not that long ago but its overexposure was what killed it.

  19. Nick Armstrong says:

I love how she also included elderly people. I didn’t even feel grossed out or anything when I saw her wearing lingerie clothing. I feel like people generally forget about elderly people and they think that just because they’ve ”lived” then they should stop having fun and living life. I say fuck that, live your life to the fullest until the day you die.

I’ve also created an 8d version of this song, I thought it will be very cool in 8D so feel free to check it out! 💙
