Led by Andrew Wiggins’ 26 PTS & 13 REB, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 5, 104-94. Stephen Curry added 16 PTS & 8 AST for the Warriors in the victory, while Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 27 PTS & 10 REB for the Celtics. The Warriors lead this best-of-seven series 3-2.

Two way Wiggins is so crucial. His drive, dunk, floaters, rebounds and defense are incredibly important. With Celtics’s defense without drop affecting Curry, Wiggins is so clutch. Game 6 Klay pls take us home. Let’s go!!!!

Wiggs was almost lockdown when matched one on one even on the highest level of offensive players and hustling and using his athleticism to grab all those boards for his team he had an amazing game offensively too he slaughtered this entire Celtics 3 ways in the game and he doesn’t need the ball in his hands much to do it. 0 turnovers as well. Beautiful game from wiggs.

Idk about lockdown. I just saw Tatum have 22 at the beginning of the 3rd? and the highlights I saw, Tatum was throwing it up and splashing it. He did have a great offensive game. Looked like 23 out there lolol
All those buckets and rebounds Wiggins had in the first quarter made me think that he was gonna have a big game but i had no clue he was gonna go this crazy

Poole Party bank shot is when I knew they would win. That’s usually a Curry momentum swing shot but his team stepped up.

everybody’s gonna talk about how he struggled but no one is going to acknowledge the fact that his mere presence is making everyone on his team 10 times better just him being on the court.
Dude every star makes their teammates better just by being in the court lol, they attract defensive attention, it’s common sense.
talk about how Curry struggled? shooters have off nights there was no way he was going to keep up that pace, but you’re correct just being on the court opens things up, he commands so much attention

Exactly. The Celtics game plan was to focus their entire team on curry and pester him both on and off ball making him fight for every step he takes on the court. You could see the Celtics were gassed toward the end of the game especially since GS played them very well on defense. With all the focus on curry Wiggins was getting single coverage from slower bigs that he could easily score on. I’ve been saying all year Wiggins can drop 25-30 any given night, Celtics just found that out and will have to spread the floor next game even more to try and guard him.
It’s so heartwarming to see the reaction of the Warrior’s staff.
You may notice that in the previous games the Celtics let Curry shoot more but took away the rest of the team’s shots. This game they face-guarded Curry more and picked him up at half-court which freed up his teammates for passes and wide-open shots.

And they also guarded him off the ball very physically to disrupt him. You could tell step was over thinking a lot of shots this game. But he was still drawing lots of Celtic attention which eventually wore the Celtics down at the end who looked exhausted. Great game by the Warriors team!
