God the dialogue is second to none almost cried during that line the characters already seem so relatable
@elMauro it’s not about genre, it’s about shit tropes in that genre. That’s what keeps me away from most Japanese stuff. I don’t care how it’s “subverted” either, that’s just a meta perspective, you still used the tropes.
I havent coped a feel will feel diferent with context.
BTW let people enjoy wathever the f they want, you dont like shonen good for you I also prefer seinen but I can still appreciate stuff without undermining others tastes.

I mean the fact that they have Kenjiro Tsuda is amazing enough. The animations, the quality, the sounds is so amazing. I can’t wait!
God! The theme! The absolute perfect theme song! Yonezu’s incredible vocal along with the beautiful music and insane animation just brings the hype to fucking 15!!!
Kenshi Yonezu always delivers and this theme is no exception! I really can’t wait for this anime now!

Chainsaw Man is already one of the best manga ever conceived. It’s not even done and the anime is about to take over the world
@Jack John berserk is my number 1, love its tonal consistency, but the entire point of chainsaw man imo is its wildness. the massive tonal shifts worked very well for me, the build up of happiness into getting it all brutally ripped away was devastating. i agree with the “killing characters too fast” complaint but it isnt really an issue for me, i just enjoyed the fast paced action and story. there is no denying it is leagues behind berserk, monster and vagabond, but that doesnt make it bad. binged the whole manga in one afternoon and hyped to see the anime.
@Spand Cool, you read all three then this won’t be hard to explain. All 3 have themes and tones that are consistent with eachother. Your positives are true, it is unique 100%. The world is actually taken from JJK even fuji (author) confirmed that it inspired him. Humour is subjective eventhough there are some parts that feels like “yeah that’s just fetish in a disgusting way” lol.
But like i said tones and themes that are consistent. Tones in this story is whats infamously named as “Tonal whiplash”. The tone is all over the place especially after the beginning. Like you literally don’t know what tone it will be because how inconsistent it becomes. If you don’t want to agree on this, it’s your thing. I won’t force you to accept it but you know it is there. There’s a reason why it is unpredictable but unfortunately it sacrifices its tone for that purpose. Berserk, monster have shocks but never i mean never sacrificed their tone for it.
As for themes, well pacing issues become more apparent especially at 50s and 60s: underdeveloped characters die way too fast. I said this in another comment before sothat i don’t spoil who it is: A certain character is introduced in one chapter and you feel you should connect to that said character but all of a sudden after 2 issues, the character dies and all you start to feel is “why” more than being shocked and sad. It happens way too much, way too often that the feeling you get is becoming more vague by the second and you start not to care for any characters. And i mean it except 4: Denji, Aki, Power and Makima. Unfortunately a certain character became way too op and i won’t spoil how and why but that thing is supposed to make fun of troupe used in shounen however it created the most generic final fight i have seen and that made and i mean it some people not like the ending of part 1.
Those are just 2 main problems CSM has that it keeps repeating. It makes you care less by the end of it more than you were after the beginning. And in a series like that; that’s a big problem and stops it from entering top 10. There are other problems but that will take another essay lol. Again you don’t have to agree but atleast don’t disagree on everything and have a healthy conversation lol
Not one of the best but the anime might end up in top 10 if done correctly
