I love how every Community interview with the cast slowly devolves into a chat session where they just talk about inside jokes, just goes to show how great cast chemistry was which was one of the big reasons that made Community so great and fun to watch

  5. The Darkest Timeline says:

I’m glad that Donald has fond memories of Community.

@Sal Saucy “my mom like why you wanna leave a good job?
my dad like do your thing, boy don’t stop”
      – from We Ain’t Them on the Royalty mixtape

    • Kiley McDonnel says:

Tom Reynolds yeah the main reason was he wanted to be his own boss, and he said Community turned into a job vs fun, but I’m sure there were no hard feelings.

    • TheInternetsAwesome says:

@Sal Saucy That was actually a reference to him leaving the 30 Rock writing staff to pursue the pilot for Community. The line right before it is literally “I left a long message to my mom and pap, I got the same speech when I left 30 Rock. My mom like why you wanna leave a good job, my dad like do your thing boy don’t stop.”

    • bronwynalexandria says:

he said becoming a father allowed him to look past the negative and actually relive the fondness and love he has for the show and the memories. i believe he was young, cocky, and believed he was meant for better (which yea he was) but he has acknowledged he had the wrong attitude. that’s what happens when you’re young! you think you know everything! lol but i freaking love him and I’m so happy he loves everyone and the show!

@Bobby So Chevy is his character?

  8. Defunct Hunk says:

“I made a pact with Chevy Chase that if he left I would leave”

    Love it.

    • That Lonely Giraffe inc. says:

@Kristine Antoinette it was a joke, chevy and donald didn’t want to talk to eachother let alone make a pact

    • Defunct Hunk says:

@Kristine Antoinette It was a joke about how a decent chunk of the cast and crew just wanted Chevy to leave as time went on.

    • Toomany Francis says:

@Ancalagon Chevy was constantly making himself more difficult to work with, at one point leaving Dan some pretty hurtful voicemails. It’s been claimed that the final straw was Chevy using a racial slur during one of his tantrums while filming season 4. They used footage they had already recorded for the remainder of the season so his character didn’t leave unannounced, then he appeared in the first episode of season 5 because he was contractually obligated to. I don’t know how much of that is true, but it’s been made clear by cast and crew that he was extremely difficult to work with.

    • Ancalagon says:

Toomany Francis dang!!!! He was probably pissed becuz season 4 was so bad

    • Cody Flood says:

@Toomany Francis Chevy was upset that his character was being written progressively more racist. Story is he said something to the effect of “What are you going to do next, have me say n*****?”

  9. Nicole Chai says:

Gillian talking about Community giving people the feeling of being part of a group really got to me. I first watched this show during a low time in my life when I didn’t really have a ‘community’ of my own, I never felt like I was a part of something. But watching Community made me feel like I was that 8th person in their study group, it made feel like I was a part of something bigger than myself. Watching this show made me realise that I had to go out and seek communities of my own which prompted me to take a leap of faith and join my school’s drama club. That was 3 years ago, joining drama club was one of the best decisions of my life and taking that bow with my friends on opening night of our show made feel like I was a part of something bigger than myself, it made me feel like I was truly part of a community. So thank you Community, thank you Dan Harmon, thank you to the cast and everyone that worked on it, you’ve changed my life for the better and countless others too. I will forever be a fan of this show and I cannot wait for that movie #sixseasonsandamovie

    • S D says:

It’s the reason I liked this show too, because it made me feel like I was a part of something even though I’m not.

    • Andres Escobar says:

Some people say the chair next to Jeff that is never taken is for us, the viewer. It is the best description I can give Community, and that’s why it’s my favorite sitcom

    • Khadee Jones says:

This. That is exactly how I explained the show to people when I first fell in love with it at 16. I had no friends and a fucked up family life so, it made me feel really warm and happy to see people of various ages and backgrounds all find a family in one another. It also made me realize that I didn’t need to look for people who had things in common with me to find friendship. I realized I didn’t need to pick a category to fall into, I could just talk to anyone and everyone around me (and that’s kind of what the definition of a community is).

He lets the cast run the show

    • James Butko says:

Except his questions were terrible. They couldn’t even figure out what he was talking about with the Remedial Chaos Theory question.

    • Latodar says:

@James Butko He asked Joel if he had to do 7 different takes of him saying the same thing before he rolled the dice in Remedial Chaos Theory. And either Alison or Danny said that he did record that many, but the editors only used the first version and copied it 🙂

    • Lizabeth90 says:

No he asked ir right. Joel was just confused lol.

THE MOVIE CAN BE ABED LOOKING FOR TROY. TROY AND ABED IN A MOOOOOVIE.

    • POKE Victor says:

I do think that would be fun but I think the movie should be something else because abed going to search for Troy wouldn’t allow the other characters to have their part in the story.

    • TiM L says:

@POKE Victor abed and the other characters are searching Troy

    • POKE Victor says:

TiM L i understand but I think that a story line like that would be way more centered on abed and Troy and I think there are better ways to equally include all characters in the story and still have Troy come back. I’m not saying that the movie being about them looking for Troy is a bad idea, I just think it’s not the best.

  19. NFSF1McLaren says:

    interviewer: “Ass Crack Bandit”
    Alison: *slowly rolls away*

    love that segment

    • Carter Paulson says:

I watched the film theory on day one and I still think its everyone. I still don’t understand why he assumed it was one person.

    • Carter Paulson says:

@BRIDGEBURNERDU94 Annies the only person who wouldn’t be able to hold it in if they all did it, plus if it was just Annie she’d have to be in a couple places at once.

    • BRIDGEBURNERDU94 says:

They give you the answer in the series finale AND Dan confirmed it once again, what more do you want. Really, fanboys can be quite annoying sometimes

    • Carter Paulson says:

Please don’t dismiss me like a petulant child. I’m just stating my theory and defending it. I’m not screaming in your face or cussing you out. This is a discussion about an amazing show that I’d hope we all enjoy.

    • Carter Paulson says:

I’m not saying you have to accept it, it’s just my headcanon.

  20. TottiKarotti says:

“Raise your hand, if you’re up for a Community movie.”

    Everyone raises their hand.

    Donald thinks of an excuse.

Dan takes of his shirt to avoid answering the question.
