Dakota Access Pipeline Company Attacks Native American Protesters with Dogs & Pepper Spray

On September 3, the Dakota Access pipeline company attacked Native Americans with dogs and pepper spray as they protested against the $3.8 billion pipeline’s construction. If completed, the pipeline would carry about 500,000 barrels of crude per day from North Dakota’s Bakken oilfield to Illinois. The project has faced months of resistance from the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and members of nearly 100 more tribes from across the U.S. and Canada.

Perhaps some of the most meaningful coverage I’ve seen you do since i
started watching Amy. “We win every day when we stand in unity.” Your
patience with those dogs and handlers was more than I think I would have
provided them. Great job. Disgusting behavior from their “security.” As a
vet i was trained to keep the peace during protests in an allied country
this would never have been allowed.

What the fuck is wrong with the US government to allow this to happen? Was
it not enough to murder them en masse? Was it not enough for the government
to take their children away and force them to learn English and lose their
native religioun? Was it not enough for our government to steal their land
and force them to relocate thousands of miles? This shit makes me sick to
    my stomach.

Is there any way to send money to the protesters?

Aren’t the protesters trespassing? They are breaking the law right?

You know once the pipeline is build and carrying oil. People are
regrettably going to sabotage it, set explosives and destroy it. The
downside is that oil is going to spill. But it’s an undeniably foreseeable
consequence. And they cannot monitor the entire pipeline. Nobody can keep
    security across the entire thing.
