Denzel Washington, James Earl Jones, Sydney Poitier. When these people are nominated for an Oscar or win no one thinks “Good, a black actor was nominated and won an Oscar”, they just think “Of course, these guys are superb actors”. They are so good at what they do they transcend everything else.

As a person, he’s one of my favorite people with the way he thinks, at least in public. As an actor, I’m sure there’s a film or 2 out there that isn’t his best work, but I’ve always enjoyed his movies a lot.
