This absolutely should be intro for newbies ingame, really needed something like this for years.

  2. Nightgirl gaming says:

Exactly what new players needed. A cutscene explaining the basics of the story, just like the D1 intro did

  3. Recnid says:

I LOVE that they’re keeping this ink and sketch cutscene style. It’s so Destiny. And the glitchy title drop at the end, chef’s kiss.

I agree. I’ve been a veteran since just before Taken King released so I somewhat know what’s going on but for brand new players who have been on D1 or the start of D2 may be confused. So to have this as a guide for new players who want to invest their time into the story should have this shown to them, it’s quick and easy to understand what’s going on. Plus it was cool to see how far the actual story had come so far.

Hahaha lmao! 😂 They should indeed…

You could watch a vid, this is pretty common knowledge

      The New Lights NEED THIS

Im really happy for the new players that they’re getting this.
Im trying to get a friend into Destiny and its really hard for them because they have no idea what is the world, and what is their place in it
hopefully this might hint at a new-player-experience rework.

@Hannah FBR Oh, yeah that makes sense. Same thing with a friend of mine, we just fuck around and do random shit, he doesn’t really care much for the story.

Honestly, unless you really care about lore and story, destiny just boils down to, get loot, so that you can use it to get more loot. Loot usually being weapons of mass destruction in the form of guns, armor, and new abilities.

    • Hannah FBR says:

@Gianni Carbonara ive got like 70 hours but all i know of the lore is what my friend tells me, plus the first mission of forsaken that’s gone now

    • Brittney McNamara says:

I ended up watching multiple Byf videos and deep-diving on wikis just to get some sense of wtf was happening. Who were these enemies? Why were we at war? What the hell HAPPENED before I was Risen? Why should I care? What’s my motivation? It took HOURS.

    • Mrmelada says:

@Gianni Carbonara he probably just wants his friends to be raid-ready and raid w him, I get that.
It’s my fucking dream that my close friends will form a 6 man w me but its just not gonna happen even tho d2 is free to play and it sucks.
Sorry for formatting and grammar, mobile and in a rush.

    • Gianni Carbonara says:

@Hannah FBR That, is pretty late game. Have you ever played before?

  6. Lego Watto says:

Y’all need to put this in the game so that new player know wtf is going on, amazing cinematic! So hype!!!

    • Chris says:

@sanity”lol how about you read the lore?!?!”

How about your read my initial comment that you responded to? “Destiny’s lore? AMAZING! Destiny’s in game story, absolutely dreadful.”

I was reading the grimoire cards back in D1, I’m fully aware of the lore being great. That’s literally what I opened my comment with. The lore and the story that the player is presented with is not the same thing. Also you are not aware of any of my playing habits, where I was before stopping playing daily and coming back for The Witch Queen.

    • sanity says:

@Chris lol how about you read the lore?!?! it’s all there conveniently in a tab just for you. And pertaining to the story, only equating one year being good as compared to the other years in terms of in game story telling is very tone deaf in my opinion. The in game story itself has been great in terms of character development and world building, only problem in the beginning of this new system was just implementing gameplay with the story, which has all been remedied for the most part. Can’t compare the other years if you’ve been absent just now come back.

    • Chris says:

@sanity I came back for The Witch Queen, didn’t feel like the delivery of the lore to the player via the in-game story has gotten any better. And it’s objectively abysmal for new players. Even if I agreed with you, one year finally after seven years of garbage is not anything to aspire to. They are even aware of what a meme their poor scripts and stories are and put that in game with No Time to Explain.

    • Minidemigod says:

      @Chris bro’s been living under a rock 🤣

    • sanity says:

@Chris stories been amazing for over a year now

      Same :’)

    • Enzo Vieira says:

@PL Coudercy me too, barely touched this season but man, it was hard not to cry

    • Ethan H says:

@PL Coudercy same here man. fingers crossed this new season will bring us some excitement, this was a fantastic teaser and reminder of the history of Destiny.

    • PL Coudercy says:

Man, I’m in a burnout phase of D2 but I started to tear up as well.
Seeing the rise of Guardians against threats of Humanity, with that great soundtrack… Chills.
      Every. Goddamn. Time.

  9. Jack M.D. says:

I’m glad they’re finally giving more context for newer players. This better play right when you make your new character!
