The magical teaser trailer for the all-new live-action musical comedy “Disenchanted,” which premiered at the D23 Expo 2022 in the Anaheim Convention Center moments ago, is here! The eagerly-anticipated sequel to “Enchanted,” which reunites original cast members Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden and also stars Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays, is directed by Adam Shankman and features new songs from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. “Disenchanted” begins streaming November 24, exclusively on Disney+…just in time to brighten up the holiday season.

It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

“Disenchanted stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Gabriella Baldacchino, with Idina Menzel and James Marsden. Directed by Adam Shankman from a screenplay by Brigitte Hales and a story by J. David Stem & David N. Weiss and Richard LaGravenese, “Disenchanted” is produced by Barry Josephson, Barry Sonnenfeld, and Amy Adams, with Jo Burn, Sunil Perkash, and Adam Shankman serving as executive producers. The movie features songs with music by 8-time Oscar®-winning composer Alan Menken and lyrics by three-time Oscar-winning lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose work on “Enchanted” garnered three Academy Award® nominations and a score by Alan Menken.

I’m SO SO SO excited that after 15 years Enchanted is finally getting a sequel! Can’t wait to see this one! 🙌

  2. Daniel McGraw says:

The tonal switch from “I wished for a fairy-tale life and it’s all gone terribly wrong…or terribly right!” was perfection. We’re gonna see some fun range from Amy Adams it seems

  3. Ava Adams says:

I love how to hero turns villain we haven’t seen a take like that for Disney and it’s amazing that all the original actors are coming back!

  4. Chris Giles says:

I loved the first movie for its creativity, its whimsical energy, the music, the perfect blend between the live action and animation, and the cast. I can’t wait to see it, and it looks like there may be a clever twist on the classic evil stepmother trope in fairy tales with Giselle inadvertently filling the role. It’s also reminding me of WandaVision a little, too! How ironic would it be if Elizabeth Olsen were to appear in this movie and she had to try to stop or undo Giselle’s wish???

At last! Been waiting for this sequel for many years! I love Enchanted

  6. Dyna Go To My ChanneI LiVE NOW says:

I actually really like the idea that Gisselle wishes for a fairy-tale life and inadvertently becomes the evil step-mother. That’s a twist.

      @steve blum I hope not

@Sen Pie I can’t wait to see the movie and I have a feeling the main villain is going to be really mad at Giselle because how she accidentally did a powerful spell and put the whole world in a big mess and the villain might be really angry at her and she might try to choke Giselle at the end of the movie for all the trouble Giselle cost and I’m just curious what do you think?

    • steve blum says:

@Queen of Tarts Good point or a bad point ?

    • Owen Leal says:

Well, its not a twist anymore, because Disney put it in the trailer. Thats so annoying.

    • Queen of Tarts says:

She wished for a fairytale life. Not a fairytale ending…

I first watched this movie with my mother when I was a child, and we absolutely loved it. It became my mom’s favorite movie and would watch it everytime it was streaming. So excited for this to come out just to see it with her and experience that same joy again.

  8. Siti Su'aidah says:

I grew up watching Enchanted and it is still my favorite movie. When I heard there’s a sequel, I was so excited! Now, after watching the trailer, I really can’t wait to watch it! Giselle as the evil step mother? What a twist

It’s been ages since Enchanted was first released. The fact that there’s a confirmed follow-up is more than enough to keep our inner child thrilled to the maximum. Giselle and her minions will officially return, and that’s the best thing to ever witness.

I love the way Giselle’s voice changed when she said “or terribly right!” 🤣
