Disney’s Cruella | Official Trailer

Brilliant. Bad. A little bit mad. May 2021.

Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.
Disney’s “Cruella” is directed by Craig Gillespie (“I Tonya”) from a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis. It was produced by Andrew Gunn (“Freaky Friday”), Marc Platt (“Mary Poppins Returns”) and Kristin Burr (“Christopher Robin”), with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff and Glenn Close serving as executive producers. Two-time Oscar®- winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “A Room with a View”) creates the dazzling and imaginative costumes, which take on a life of their own.

Basically, Disney’s version of Joker? I’m down for it

      Harley Quinn

@SpiralEntree That just seems ridiculous. And honestly not true. Because if the first “Wonder Woman” was a fan favorite and well-received, how did all this criticism come up that you speak of? In the first one, she had to fight Ares and everyone loved it. The problem is the second movie and I personally don’t know why. I thought it was mediocre at best.

@KrappyFriedCat imagine being so sad to the point of bringing politics into a Disney villain movie. A fiction movie. Most important : A MOVIE

Disney’s version of Harley Quinn and the Joker 🃏

  5. Red Heat says:

I am woman hear me roar, while I skin these puppies for clothing.

    • Mysikrysa says:

Yep. Trying to turn a psychopath who skins puppies for fashion into a misunderstood protagonist and making her another feministic “rolemodel” (“I´m a woman, hear me roar”) is twisted.
What´s next? A movie about Hitler being actually a misunderstood good guy?

    • GUNNY MARU says:

@HMM Here we go. Have you even considered looking up articles written about the Harley Quinn movie to see what the anti male talking points were? No. You had no personal interest in the movie, congrats, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t an agenda being pushed. And you’re wrong about the Ghostbusters thing as well. They pushed the “4 female leads and Men are just going to have to get over it” articles which then incited hatred. They started it, we returned fire. You already started hurling insults by calling me an incel, would I be wrong for throwing an insult back?

    • Joaoedits says:

@Mysikrysa You clearly forgot what is to watch a movie. So you dont watch R Rated movies ? Cause all they do is incite violence. Best example ever. Joker. She is a villain. Didnt you watch Hannibal ? Dexter ? Where you live ? In a court ? In the Capitol ? Disney castle ? You want more Disney princess ? There is plenty for u. Some people like more grown up stuff. And dont turn fucking fiction into politics. We are trying to have a good time with movies.

    • GUNNY MARU says:

@Joaoedits R rated movies aimed towards adults is one thing. Taking a movie about a puppy skinner, making her seem like a character you can have sympathy for and aiming it towards children is completely different. Joker was in theaters, children could not go unless a literal adult is with them. This will be on Disney plus which children can easily use without supervision. False Equivalency

  10. Richard Graham says:

I am absolutely gonna need to know how they manage to girlbossify a disney villain whose whole shtick is skinning puppies

  11. Demontre Wiley says:

In Once Upon a Time, a show where a LOT of villains became misunderstood heroes, Cruella was still a monster.

Don’t mess this one up, too, Disney.

    • Deh Alcântara says:

Cruella is created, in her roots, to be a monster. The only way she can be seen as misunderstood is if her basic characteristics are changed. That doesn’t mean she’s not a complex character, but it does mean she’s cruel. It’s her name. I see her in the same light I see Azula, from Avatar: they’re complex characters we can relate to, but that doesn’t mean they’re not monsters.

    • misandrist twink says:

      they won’t

    • Katherine Pierce says:

@Aiden Post it wasn’t THAT bad

  12. Young Orange says:

  13. Réi says:

After this Cruella would be joining Harley’s team

    • AliSakii says:

Dalmatians of prey (and the fantabulous emancitpation of one, Cruella DeVil)

    • Penny Gillespie says:

Uhhh Harley would straight up kill Cruella xD don’t go forgetting that Harley (even if movie Harley doesn’t have them yet) does in canon have 2 very exotic hound bois, Cruella even looks at them and Harley would slam a hammer in her head xD

    • AliSakii says:

@Penny Gillespie cruella is just a budget version of harley but weaker

    • Ocean Blue says:

Harley wouldnt want a puppy killer around her. She’d probably torture her for that lowkey.

  14. Axioms and Things says:

Weird character choice for your new female empowerment icon, Disney, but okay.

    • John Stanman says:

miley Cyrus Paris Jackson and riketo sokoli have a third eye in his brain and can telepathicly communicate with celebrities and surrounds himself with free masons and illuminati members and lives in Edmonds Washington ….

    • Maddi G says:

As an ex feminazi, I would argue that it’s the perfect choice lmao.

    • Captain Inner Monkey says:

@John Stanman smoke crack it helps

    • Anii says:

My thoughts exactly and what with the terrible British account am actually offended by it being
British myself. They should have either found someone form England to play the role or just went with the normal American accent.

  15. Fire_Element says:

Wow, Gwen Stacie not only survived, but turned herself into a villain.

  16. Ariadlus Daedaladne Enigmus Proximo says:

This looks more like Harley Quinn film than the Harley Quinn film.

    • Ocean Blue says:

You clearly didn’t watch it then cause that movie was unapologetically Harley

    • Hanzy Larkspur says:

Seriously? This is more like Harley Quinn than the Harley Quinn film? I hope you’re not crazy. Well I guess you are crazy. 🤣 At least Harley Quinn tried to save the world and doesn’t k*ll or skin poor puppies than this s**t. 🤣🤣🤣

    • Joaoedits says:

@Hanzy Larkspur Harley is not a fucking hero???? 😂😂😂😂 At least Disney is making Cruella what she truly is. A fucking villain. Not a anti hero. WB still need to learn some stuff

  17. Michael Galindo says:

    “I’m a woman hear me roar “
    Huh cErSei LaNNiSTeR?!?

  18. LEE PAGE says:

I mean I love Glenn Close but this version is all about her life when she was young so Emma is perfect for the role

  19. LEE PAGE says:

I’m a puppy lover but Cruela is my most favorite villain why?

  20. Username says:

Oh, right, a bourgeois villain needs a “backstory.” Standard Disney lmao
