The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Fences,” “Lady Bird”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.
“Dune: Part Two” was filmed on location in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Italy. The film is slated for a November 3, 2023 worldwide release from Warner Bros. Pictures.

They pulled lines directly from the book, specifically Stilgar saying to Paul, “keep it simple, nothing fancy. We know you are brave.” Im so pumped, Denis is a true fan of this world/lore.

  2. Danny Buehs says:

It’s so refreshing seeing at least one franchise being well adapted in these dark times

@Providence BreakerEither you didn’t actually read the book or you just forgot. Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt tho

      So say we all !

    • Gunnar says:

@Ymgt1 It was apparently a studio-mandated change, but it didn’t harm the movie too much. If you weren’t familiar with the books, you wouldn’t notice anything wrong about it.

@Wilt Chamberlain Amazon’s Invincible is an exception

I got goosebumps all over when Paul stood up on the sandworm and the Fremen started cheering. Sooooo exciteddddd!!!!

    • Loonie says:

@toonsis Oh he deffo did since it was a big one. But I also hope they keep Stilgar’s lines immediately after he joins him on the worm: “Son, you were reckless and I am very disappoint.”

    • toonsis says:

I dont remember Paul haveing that kind of drama hooking his first maker

    • Mark Snow says:

Yes, that whole sequence looks as if it may have been done right. Hope for the best.

My father was the biggest fan of “Dune” (books and old movies). He was so excited when the 1st trailer came out. Unfortunately, because of the heart, he passed away. When part 2 comes out, I will watch it and he will be there with me in spirit. I hope you like it, Dad😢

Dune is honestly the reason why I write my own stories. It was a life changing experience to have read it at the age fifteen. I am now forty-nine years old and even if I NEVER get my works published, I can still create my own “realities”. Thank you Frank Herbert for the gift that you have bestowed on my life and thank you Denis for masterfully bringing my childhood imagination to life.

and that is power, real power, power from within.

    • Books Rebound says:

@Alexandre MS Malazan! If you’re looking for another life changing series like Dune and you’re into fantasy, I highly recommend checking out the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. It’s a series that’s truly unparalleled in its scope and the worldbuilding is so deep and incredible. The stories he tells are absolutely heart wrenching and it’s not called “BOOK OF THE *FALLEN*” for nothing. It’s unlike anything else I’ve ever read. Far surpasses Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, Stormlight Archive, Game of Thrones, etc. Check it out.
It’s not for everyone, it’s a challenging read for some people apparently since you’re thrown into the deep end and expected to swim, but if the series is for you, it’ll likely become one of your favorites.

i currently started writing too but i think my story is too big I’m lost not really but I don’t know where to beginning or where to end any tips ?

  8. Jack Dolinger says:

As much as the anticipation for part 2 has killed me since I first saw part 1, you really can’t do this story justice in just one movie. With Denis Villeneuve’s vision and the range of this cast, there’s no doubt that part 2 will be more than worth the wait.

    • Fernando Bazan says:

@Olga Ilicheva Denis said he was glad he didin’t make that. It’s been a very exhausting ride so far. Even I believe it would have been better done in 3 parts.

    • Olga Ilicheva says:

The studio should have allowed Denis to film both parts back to back. They didn’t want to take a risk.

  9. GPrime says:

We are not ready to watch this, Part Two will be an incredible masterclass. Thanks to everyone who made this film happen!

  10. Herbert Meier says:

This is the first movie in years that I am genuinely exited about. Part one was fantastic, hope this one is as good and turns out to be a financial success. I really want dune to be a movie franchise.
