After sending shockwaves across contemporary culture and setting a new standard for provocative, socially-conscious horror films with his directorial debut, Get Out, Academy Award®-winning visionary Jordan Peele returns with another original nightmare that he has written, directed and produced. Set in present day along the iconic Northern California coastline, Us, from Monkeypaw Productions, stars Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, a woman returning to her beachside childhood home with her husband, Gabe (Black Panther’s Winston Duke), and their two children (Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex) for an idyllic summer getaway.

Haunted by an unexplainable and unresolved trauma from her past and compounded by a string of eerie coincidences, Adelaide feels her paranoia elevate to high-alert as she grows increasingly certain that something bad is going to befall her family. After spending a tense beach day with their friends, the Tylers (Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon), Adelaide and her family return to their vacation home. When darkness falls, the Wilsons discover the silhouette of four figures holding hands as they stand in the driveway. Us pits an endearing American family against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves. Writer and director Peele produces for his Monkeypaw Productions alongside Sean McKittrick, Jason Blum, and Monkeypaw’s Ian Cooper. Us will be released by Universal Pictures this March, 2019.

Directed By Jordan Peele
Produced By Jason Blum, Sean McKittrick, Jordan Peele, Ian Cooper

What did YOU think about the ending to Us? ✂✂✂

    • Speckiton3 says:

The most important lesson in this movie is DON’T PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD

    • I'm black So I'm slow says:

I said this movie was about HYPOCRISY! Before it came out!…but people still can see the hypocrisy init! When it’s about self!

    • Deborah W. says:

Andrew Williams SO true. Your analysis of Gabe is on point.

    • Galliane fait ce qu'elle peut says:

7:07 There is more to the owl and spider symbolism, because the owl is also the symbol of the Bohemian Club, and their motto is “Weaving spiders come not here”… And Adelaide is smashing the owl figure in the mirror hall at the end of the film.

    • Eric Cartman says:

      Flicks And The City ✂️✂️✂️

  2. Na Man says:

it was symbolic seeing the dopplegangers going for the throat (as was especially evident in the tylers’ murder scene). they have had no voice for all this time and they are taking the “voice” away from the upside people

    • Flicks And The City says:

Wow yes indeed and nice spot! 😀👍
Jordan Peele said every detail in the movie means something. I have pages more of details I noticed but this video could have been an hour long!

    • Na Man says:

Flicks And The City would definitely watch an hr long video about US, Jan!

    • Culley says:

Also this jus came to mind……Pluto doesn’t walk he runs like a dog……..what do dogs go for when they attack ??

    • marie watson says:

+Flicks And The City MAKE A LONG VERSION OF THE SAME THING. That way, they have a choice. More ytubers should do this, really. But your review is the best I’ve watched, hands down.
      Moooooree please. Thank you. Subscribed.

  3. Martin Alcoser says:

I love psychological thrillers such as these

  4. lineetta says:

Didn’t notice this during the movie, but in the scene at 3:10 of this video there’s a very blatant hint: the painting above the fireplace of 3 people in blue and 1 in red. Same color symbolism as the blue blanket + red frisbee and the clothes the characters wear.

  5. Ryan O'Sullivan says:

The number 11 also showed up when the TV said the score of the Giants game. It was 11 to 11

  6. Syed Mazhar Hasan says:

One more detail that you missed: Little Adelaide knows how to whistle, and when “Adelaide” kills “Red”, you can see “Red” whistling just before her death. “Red” is also heard whistling when she breaks into the house for the very first time. This is clear indication of the swap, which is revealed in the end.

    • Syed Mazhar Hasan says:

+Tiarra BMay be I am wrong.

    • Noir King says:

Actually I brought this point up on another post and I agree with it. The fake Adelaide never had that whistling down the way the original did. The tone was different and everything and that was a clear indication of who was who also. I noticed it when they were in the fun house originally. The fakes whistle was much more of somewhat a darker kinda tone.

    • IttyBitty Lex says:

That part was so sad to me. The real person was defeated, her last whistle was one of finally giving up

    • unrhu says:

+Syed Mazhar Hasan No you are right, they were not both whistling, it was a clue of the swap

    • Stormiecaliente SC says:

      Syed Mazhar Hasan
      Red is the original adelaide?

  7. Samaya Lloyd says:

The 11 11 guy was starting the chain..

  8. THE PAPERBOYZ says:

When she was snapping off beat in the car I knew something was wrong… The clones have no soul.

  9. Kaitlyn R. says:

I noticed (especially after her 2nd killing of a tethered clone) that Adelaide’s previously white clothing was becoming increasingly red with blood. At the time I thought it was just showing her transformation into what she feared, but after the ending I realized it was a clue.

    • Rhonda C. says:

      oo70mar you’re right

    • Christopher Johnson says:

+oo70mar no she said she had 1 kill

    • Mr Yaoi says:

@oo70mar the mother corrected her daughter after saying having 2 kills that ” i finished off the other twin ” or smth like that so yes , she did confirm that she had 1kill like the rest of her family except the father .
Did you even watch the movie?
I watched it once and still remember quite vividly

    • oo70mar says:

Mr Yaoi if I didn’t watch the movie, how would I have known what the father said in that scene 🤔🤔 anywayyyyssss I watched it the first day in the morning so I can’t remember everything exact scene to the tee

    • Dallas Girl says:

I kept asking myself why is so she fearless when confronting the clones….bc she was one of them.

  10. publicentity says:

When red first was telling the story in the living room. She stated that the prince fell in love with the shadow which was an early indicator that they had switched already

    • Jayarie says:

Not sure what you heard but this definitely wasn’t said. The only mention of prince was saying the princess found and fell inlove with a prince and she got Abraham. I’m surprised so much is up voted for inaccuracy, you can actually Google her speech to verify. It was told from the pov of the princess the entire story

    • shopnnut says:

+Blake Harris yea but sometimes not knowing is better, if anything you could have possibly gaven the movie a lower rating if they did tell you rather then didn’t. but hey, at least we both loved the movie

    • shopnnut says:

+Koko Brown that could make sense if i think about it long enougj

    • Lady Bama says:

Red also said the prince fell in love with the shadow during her story 🤔

    • Movie Muscle says:

+Sin City Quinn Yeah that’s the only question I have. My guess is that is why Adelaide chained her up to the bed so she could go up top and become the dominant one so when she freed herself she couldn’t go up top because she was bound to do what Adelaide was doing because of the soul tethering. The only reason Adelaide was able to go up top is because Red went to the mirror house and she mimicked her movements to get there.

  11. Michael Hess says:

I keep watching these videos and no one mentions how there’s only one black rabbit in both the opening scene (when caged) and the scene before Adelaide confronts Red, where the black rabbit (now free) runs into the room where the confrontation takes place. I took this as symbolizing Red’s existence as the anomaly or “black sheep” in the underground society, as she did not originate there and breaks conformity in order to lead a revolution that changes the world for herself and her people.

  12. Gooner_Eagle_Eye1 says:

You missed the growling as she killed was another hint at the twist

    • D'Angelo Fulton says:

+Gabe Merritt The tethered can learn to do things being a new body with no memories. But once they untethered themselves they acquire everything from their original

    • Gabe Merritt says:

+D’Angelo Fulton I do not believe souls truly existed in this film, although that really is up to the viewer. I instead see it as an example of nature vs. nuture.

    • Eobard Thawne says:

Gabe Merritt nah you’re right. I was gonna say the same thing to this guy. The soul isn’t something that can just be acquired spiritually lol especially in this movie. For some reason he thinks she like took her doppelgängers soul but that’s def not the case.

    • Eobard Thawne says:

D’Angelo Fulton that’s false.did you even actually watch the movie? You say once the tethered kill the originals they acquire everything. That is not true at all. Seeing as how we clearly see at the end of the movie that the people in red killed all their counterparts…they didn’t go on to live their lives. They did what they were taught to do. Which was hold hands and mimic the “hands across America” one example that completely shuts down your theory is when the white family got killed. You claim once they kill the counterparts they absorb everything and become them…that obviously wasn’t the case seeing as how the husband and wife still couldn’t speak any words and still acted like absolute animals.

    • nathan sullivan says:

+D’Angelo Fulton That isn’t true because when the other tethered family killed that family they didn’t acquire there souls and kept on being the same up to the point that they were killed.

  13. Nevin Hall says:

The twist ending in this movie is similar to that of Michael Jackson’s thriller video. Lots of thriller references here

    • SUN WARRIOR says:

Yup in that the boyfriend telling the story of a Ware-wolf boyfriend that is ACTUALLY the freakin’ monster himself!!! Brilliant!!

    • Koko Brown says:

Ironically, Jason wore a werewolf mask, lol

    • Lola-sso Mçlàughłïn says:

And Adelaide wore a thriller shirt

    • Koko Brown says:

What I didn’t immediately pick up on was the red jumpsuit and ONE glove. Genius. All these references from a little girl’s last days above ground. I wonder if she was wearing those odd sandals they all wore when she was kidnapped.

  14. ELEGANT ARTIST says:

This movie was so good! I though I would be scared due to the trailer, but it was definitely a deeper meaning behind everything

  15. Cesar Hidalgo says:

The boy’s name is Jason and he’s always wearing a mask. Nod to Jason?

  16. GrizBear HD says:

Notice how the mom legitimately cared for the tethered kids like they where her own.

  17. Eric Mata says:

When they were bragging about having a higher kill count it showed how desensitized to violence they are. They dont see themselves as murderers because they dont see the tethered as human.
The tethered planned the hands across america as a protest of the conditions of how they have lived. The tethered are voiceless representing the underprivileged.
The non tethered couldn’t understand their protest (or their plight) as the dad even thought it was some sort of performance art.
At the end the mom told the kid everything would be alright meaning that their protest wouldn’t make a difference in the end. Just like the original hands across america didnt really change things.

  18. Deri C says:

A nice little Easter egg i heard: In Red’s original speech to the family she said “I had a little girl, and she was born laughing”. “And then I had a little boy, and he was born in fire”. I found that strange. And if you notice, the tethered daughter dies laughing in a tree. And the tethered son dies by fire!

    • Zackary Shelby says:

I also don’t understand why Jason and adelaid were so off beat

    • Nican ~ Xochicualli says:

+John Parimango which kids are more real: the ones born to the imposter Adelaide above ground or the kids born to the original adelaide underground. Rhetorical of course but hopefully u get my point

    • gemini_sun says:

+Weston Evans I thought that too because of the hints in the movie, but if that’s true, when was there time to burn the others face, and how?

    • gemini_sun says:

+alj94 how would they become so different in 1 year down there tho? I know the girl was running slow/weird for a reason, but how did she become a psycho, and the boy become like an animal if they were switched a yr ago?

    • Mrs.Netta From1986 says:

+Zackary Shelby They had no soul

  19. Adam Preece says:

I realised the twist when red let herself into the family house, obviously remembered the hidden key from when she was a child.

    • EggHeadUSA says:

Did you not pay attention to the film? The clones play out the normal people’s lives in the underground base (they know their memories)

    • gemini_sun says:

+Gabe Merritt that’s why she was there when she was little, and they mention the mom passing away.

    • gemini_sun says:

+Neeshpeesh123 no, they mean when the tethered family comes. The other/real Lupita picks up the hide-a-key to get into their house. She uses the key to get in instead of breaking in

    • Neeshpeesh123 says:

gemini_sun i know but the father comes through first and hits his leg. It just seemed that he was the one that unlocked the door.

    • gemini_sun says:

+Neeshpeesh123 I dont think he knows how to use a key..but he also was busy with the bat hitting the dad after the door was unlocked

  20. NotThatPerson 5756 says:

I low key knew something was off about Adelaide when after she killed one of the tethered, she growled like a animal
