Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2 – only on Netflix, June 16.
After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held. Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.
This is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González. EXTRACTION 2 is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall and Sam Hargrave, with Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely as executive producers.

I know, I saw-and loved-the first, I’m excited for this.
I loved the cinematography on the first one, and so glad to see this one has similar experimental scenes as well. Look at the transition from a hand held camera to one that is attached to Hemsworth’s body when he gets stunned by a hit at 00:32. After this, the camera is on a harness fixed to Hemsworth until 00:56, where it seamlessly cuts to the hand held camera once again. Brilliant, and so creative.

i love learning about all these different styles of shooting film from body camera to drones now it makes a film feel more real
@Racher50 Sam was one of the fight coreographers on John Wick, later went to work with David Leitch (co-director of JW) on Atomic Blonde where he worked as a stunt coordinator and a camera operator. He came up with that one shot stairwell fight.

Keep in mind this entire first sequence looks to be done all in one take. There are cuts but the beautiful transitions between them make it look seamless. This is going to be a movie of the summer for SURE
Sam said that there is a huge oner scene, like 30 minutes long, and this has to be one part of it

Like others said there are cuts they just hide them. It feels like a oner though when your watching it becuase how seamless it’s done. Also Hemsworth sells the action really well. You feel every hit.

This looks so badass already and I cannot wait to see it. The fact that they actually filmed on top of a moving train with a helicopter is crazy!
I loved the rawness of the shots taken by Sam Hargrave in the first movie and his dedication as a first time director for those shots, beyond commendable.
Chris Hemsworth may have finally found another franchise with some staying power. I’m glad for him.

I may have seen the first one unhealthy amount of times. Just LOVED the action and how it was shot with the camera in some scenes. Part 2 is not going to disappoint me by the look of this trailer. I’m ready!! 🔥
Facts I watch extraction and John wick atleasttttt once a year
The image of Chris Hemsworth has become so ingrained in my heart that whenever I see him in a role other than Thor, and if he’s ever in danger, I feel like he will possess Thor’s powers and say, “I AM THOR, SON OF ODIN.”
Fat chance with what they did to Thor.
Really happy they’re continuing from the first film. Extraction 1 blew me away and I wanted to see Hemsworth play this character again. Can’t wait for this to be out!
