Fall Out Boy – Young And Menace

Fall Out Boy – Young And Menace

The gentle pull of a tide that rolls over and over again and by the sheer nature of its essence it becomes an indestructible will- ripping out sand- eroding what was before it- without a care… a transformational monster-becoming the madness and frenzy of a truly bulletproof wave. I’m not just here for your love, I’m here for all of the love. An overdose of dopamine- we are living inside of MANIA right now. the never sleeping, never blinking- caught forever in the sunshine riptide. -pw

We’ve gone way too fast for way too long
And we were never supposed to make it half this far
And I lived so much life, lived so much life
I think that God is gonna have to kill me twice
Kill me twice like my name was Nikki Sixx
I woke up in my shoes again but somewhere you exist singing
Oops I, did it again, I forgot what I was losing my mind about
Oh, I only wrote this down to make you press rewind
And send a message that I was young and a menace

Woke up on the wrong side of reality
And there’s a madness that’s just coursing right through me
And as far as the time, far as the time
Not sure I’m there yet but I’m searching out the ride
Oops I, did it again, I forgot what I was losing my mind about
Oh, I only wrote this down to make you press rewind
And send a message that I was young and a menace

If I am off the deep end
I’m just here to become the best yet
I’m just here for the psych assessment
I’m just here for the the…

We’ve gone way too fast for way too long
And we were never supposed to make it half this far

Just a question… if you like TØP but don’t like this song because it’s “too electronic” then why don’t you hate TØP for also having incredibly electronic music… yet, they’re still called emo ?

Everyone’s made at Fall Out Boy and Paramore for trying something new. My dudes just let them live. They want to do something different from their old stuff.

Well ladies and gentlemen, falloutboy has officially sold out to mainstream.

although the closest songs to my heart are from their older albums, i like young and menace. it’s fine to love it or hate it, but don’t decide to spam them with rude shit. you saw how the hate from folie can really hurt someone.

  5. The Girl With a Band Obsession says:

You need to chill. Their sound has never actually been consistent. If their sound was always the same, it’d get boring pretty quickly. Panic! switches their sound all the time, and yet they never get the amount of hate that FOB does when they decide to change their sound. I’m sure the whole album will not all have the same elements, but if you don’t care to listen to this album, then go back to Take This To Your Grave. But don’t prevent others from listening to something they may enjoy.

I’ve heard many mixed opinions about this song, and I’d like to remind everybody to state their opinions respectfully, and to respect other’s opinions. Insulting people because of their thoughts on a song is completely unnecessary, please just be kind and respectful.

there’s a huge difference between a band changing their sound, and completely devolving and selling out.

fall out boy: releases one song

everyone: ugh what a shame.. the era is ruined.. patrick stump is dead.. this is the end.. rip fall out boy..

  13. Julianne Bankston says:

There’s a difference between changing your sound and growing as a band and just plain selling out. Like don’t get me wrong, I love Fall Out Boy and I came here to listen to this song with an extremely open mind. But I just can’t get on board with this. It feels like devolving rather than evolving. No, they don’t have to go back to their pop punk roots but I expect more from them than this. They’re extremely talented and they ought to use their talents instead of pandering to the mainstream.

Honestly, I like the way that this song scales up with such a calm pace then suddenly blasts off dramatically, it reminds me A LOT of “Jet Pack Blues”. Even though I agree that the chorus sounded like a big EDM mess to me at first (and to the ones who are still attached to their original style), it just took me a couple times listening to it to get in the right mood and realize that all this “mess”, just like every lyric of FOB, has a deeper meaning hidden inside of it, and describes perfectly what this tune is all about: Unquietness. Turbulence. Disorder. Riot. FANDOM.

  17. Geovany Méndez says:

Wtf Patrick, what happened to your emo side of you. I want the old Fall out Boy not some pop shit that everyone else is doing. You know better than this and we want the good old days back for the young bloods ?

  18. Morgan Warner says:

People are freaking out over this one song. Everybody is saying that it sounds like today’s pop music and that its too mainstream, but just listen to the l y r i c s. The lyrics are 100% Fall Out Boy. You’re entitled to your own opinion, but I think the song is great, and despite what it sounds like, you can’t deny that the deep and cryptic lyrical style that they’re known for is definitely still present.
