The contracts weren’t about legality, it was about the game runners establishing dominance and the players willingly relinquishing agency.

And during the game the alpha male dude was insulting her by saying things such as “oh look at this North Korean” etc. So if it was in South Korea you’d assume that someone would be like “bro?? I’m North Korean too”

keep in mind that Gihun DID try and alert the authorities when he first came back after the players voted to stop the games and the authorities thought he was crazy. there’s also the scene with the other VIPs saying “the ones in Korean are the best,” implying that these games happen around the world (especially since the other VIPs are also from other countries).
I had a sneaking suspicion that the cops were in on it too..
BUT THAT’S JUST A THEORY-
Another thing that didn’t help was that the organization behind the games changed the number on the business cards that were handed out to the players. These guys really don’t want to get caught, especially since one of their main sources of revenue is harvesting organs of deceased “players”.

The more impressive effort is the blinders put on in this video in regards to omittance of China in this discussion. They have literally built up artificial islands in foreign sovereign waters, have concentration camps, modern slavery, actively keep Taiwan from being recognized & joining international organizations, and so much more. To not mention CCP controlled China who is the biggest human rights abuser of all, but to focus on North Korea on human rights abuses instead had to be purposeful. With the large push for their merch (which is almost guaranteed to be made in China) this glaring omission probably has something to do with that it could effect their pocket books. But hey, that’s just a theory! A YouTube comment theory!
