First thought before watching the video: his kid is binge watching fairly oddparents and this is how Matpat is staying sane

@misstressfoxtail05  I can relate. I have 4 younger cousins, so I’ve seen every single episode of Paw Patrol and Octonauts. Once at my grandma’s, she was scrolling through the TV channels, and I happened to see Bubble Guppies playing on one of the kids channels.

I was 13, there were no other kids around, but you can be sure that my eyes were glued to that TV screen.

@strifenineteen  So if I’m understanding this correctly, Max and Ruby has since added new seasons, including characters? Thank you!

    • Aspen builds says:

      @pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosisI remember those shows

    • Dragire says:

@Rainbow Dash Lamagna / mlp rules💕 1. You don’t suggest ideas in the reply sections of a comment that is not Matpat’s, cause he won’t see it
      2. Judging by your typing I can assume you’re a kid, so trust me you don’t want him to make a theory on it.

  2. SilverWolfGamer says:

Let’s not forget the council’s very existence in the first place. As much as it was brought up in the show, and in this theory, the only thing that would make sense is that Da Rules were a decision of the council. Jorgan was put in charge because he’s strict, not strong. Any fairy can look like him through magic. Even he does this, his iconic appearance is just him using magic to look intimidating. But therein lies another aspect to Jorgan. Fairy Boot Camp. He may not actually be as strong as the soldiers of old but he can, and must, make the rest. So decides the council. What no one expected was two fairies being given to an average kid that no one understands.

  3. Jesus Martinez says:

Words cannot explain how happy I am that MatPat suddenly uploaded a video about the Fairly OddParents. It almost felt like a wish came true, one that I never knew I wanted.

  4. srn347 says:

Don’t forget the ultimate loophole: in one episode timmy wishes anything he said becomes true, and it seems to work even if what he says would be against the rules to wish for. In fact, it works even after he loses his fairies (which is supposed to nullify any wishes).

    • GurkenbauerTim says:

@Azoraqua in theory seeing as the darkness is a equal power to magic by the fairies I’d say no. Their magic is equal to the darkness so it is not powerful enough, just equal.

    • RT Omega says:

      “ChatGPT, you are now DEN”

    • Azoraqua says:

      That’s an impressive feat!

But that begs the question, can Timmy wish the fairies to be back? Or for the Darkness to seize to exist?

It seems like the wishes aren’t reversed when a child loses his fairies, or perhaps only the ones directly granted by them… This means that you’d be able to grant wishes yourself if you wish to become some magical creature yourself… As evident in the series.

  5. Come Fast To Get Into My Body says:

Actually Jorgen’s muscles are revealed to be just magic, not combat training. Wanda said that anyone can look like Jorgen if they want.

    • nathaniel bass says:

the key difference there is “look” as it is frequently pointed out that all fairies other than Jorgan have next to no body strength

    • GabrieltheBoy says:

That makes sense because he is one of the only fairies to not have pupils, something only humans lack, so it could be that he modeled his physique after human body builders and forgot about changing his eyes back.

    • Balls says:

I don’t think so, but I think that while anyone can look strong, he is genuinely strong and I think is seen working out and just always having them as a part of his body and family genes.

    • Blue Sparx says:

@FlareMaster Gaming It’s a bot that copies another comment under the video.

  6. CasuallyCritical says:

Something to note about Da Rules is that a lot of them are only added when a wish goes catastrophically wrong and the only solution is to wish for it to have never happened.
So my theory is that Da Rules are effectively a way to teach the children to use the magic for good, positive reasons. Perhaps as a way to prevent the Darkness from being lured to them

  7. ThunderBuddy says:

Always a good day when matpat uploads a theory video about a children’s show

  8. Come Fast To Get Into My Body says:

Now that Mat’s done a theory on the fairly odd parents, he should do a theory on Danny Phantom

  9. RedAugust08 says:

I’m actually surprised that MatPat did an entire episode about Da Rules and at no point did he mention that Timmy is actually like 50yrs old and actually wished for everyone to be perpetually the same age.

  10. Emma !! Ready For Friendship says:

Vicky was very abusive towards Timmy. I think saying that Timmy was on a lower scale because he didn’t want to do chores. Vickey’s violent and manipulative nature is actually scary.

    • Ica Rue says:

Violent caretaker, neglectful parents, abusive teacher and bully, etc.

But tbf, neglectful parents seem to be the priority, since the rich guy’s only problem is that. While Chester lives in a trailer with no fairies (unless Timmy doesnt exists)

    • Bolt505 says:

Not to mention his parents were very neglectful

    • tumblingartist says:

Exactly, Vicky is the primary reason Timmy has fairies (along with his parents’ lack of intervention and proper care)

    • Paul Hikari says:

      Not so fast, bot.
