[Galaxy S6 and S6 edge] 80lbf Three-Point Bend Test

[Galaxy S6 and S6 edge] 80lbf Three-Point Bend Test

All Samsung devices are put rigorous high-quality validation tests before they are delivered to consumers. These tests include various conditions, such as dropping, bending, and breakage. This presentation features a 3-point bend test, where we check how much the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge does or does not bend and if it comes back to its original state afterwards should it bend. 80 pounds of force, which is enough to break 5 pencils at once, is applied to test Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. 80 lbf is considered an extreme condition, well more than what most devices will ever encounter in normal everyday use.

SquareTrade’s phone-bending video makes use of unrealistic forces in order
to forcibly bend the phones. Were they paid by competitors to generate

Even an iphone 6 will take 80 measley pounds of pressure. If they fuck off
the note like this too, I’m done with samsung for a while. I’ll go to BLU
and just pay cash when they come out with an LTE vivo air type device.

There is value in showing the actual point of failure. This test is like
    comparing phones to pencils.

  6. Beka Alimzhanov says:

Really? It isn’t about “Would it break if preassure equal to 80lbs was
applied”. It’s about would it bend? And guys from previous test applied

Who startet this bending crap anyway?

It’s a fuckin phone, we don’t build bridges with it! If you spend that much
money on a gadget, buy a case and take care of it.

  16. Homeboy Chris says:

I guess samsung just figured out that ppl are idiots, and ran with that.
So much for durability. I guess looks are all they are after now. I can
get that in a iphone, and support a local company in the process.

:v And i’m just sitting here with my Sony Z3.

  18. Homeboy Chris says:

I cringed when I saw they went thinner and kept the battery the same. 90%
of serious phone consumers are screaming from the rooftops that battery is
#1 issue with phones, but nobody gives a fuck. Very frustrating as a
consumer. I feel like I’m being treated as some idiot bitch.

  19. A.N.A says:

Cool now we know S6 and S6 Edge are durable and they are by far the best
    phones Samsung has ever manufactured.
