I still find it hard to believe that after spending so much time focusing on the Golden Freddy/Puppet of it all, the missing link wound up being Chica. Maybe we’ll learn more about her with Security Breach…or maybe FNaF’s lore is dead in the water and all we can do is speculate on what might have been.
I don’t believe Mike is William’s adopted child because his character was specifically written to sound and look like William. Biologically similar.
Maybe we’re taking the ‘animatronics confuse Michael for William’ a bit too literally.
Maybe instead of physical appearance, maybe its the clothing they both wear on duty as an employee of the pizzeria, maybe their cold, soulless eyes, one from constant murder, another from constantly seeing the people they care for die (like Henry, the crying child, Charlie and Elizabeth),
that or when Michael starts working as a night guard as a living corpse, perhaps his figure is all thin and bony, just like William is portrayed in the minigames, thin and skeletal like.
But that’s just a a theory game theory

My only issue with the ‘William is Michael’s stepfather’ theory is that, iirc, the animatronics mistake Michael for William because they look so similar, which would imply a biological connection.

@Amanda Bubier Charlie’s gravestone says “Charlotte Emily” so maybe that’s the surname? But it might just be her middle name
@B of the sea Wow that just reminded me of something really sad. Lots of women drop their last name because it reminds them of an abusive family or ex-husband. Maybe whoever buried Charlie thought the Afton name was so thoroughly damned that they buried her without a surname. Emily sound a lot more like a girls middle name than a surname.
Well sometimes its just a coincidence. I have friends who are adopted that strangely look like their parents in some way.
@Day Dream I like this point, but that also begs the question: Does the built in facial recognition not mesh with the child soul?
Let me elaborate. Obviously the souls have been able to mesh with the electronics in each possessed robot, that would be the only way they could feasibly move around on their own. With that being said, is there limits to what the soul can attach itself to? Is the facial recognition new enough that the souls wouldn’t know what to do with it, or are they so caught up in their deaths that they refuse/can’t bring themselves to interact with it.
One thing: Ballora’s song is probably directed towards Afton, because in UCN she references the song in her voice lines. For example: “Why do you hide inside these walls?”
Matpat already knows that. He just say: ” what if ballora’s song is for Henry”.
@Wej Ballon-Gamilla fair but if Ballora’s song is for Henry, then how does that change our understanding of the phrase “why do you hide inside these walls”?
