Theorists, today I’m taking you all the way back… before FNAF Security Breach, before Sister Location, before any of the games that we currently know and LOVE. We’re going back to the inception of Fazbear Entertainment. I’ve recently made a discovery that changes everything… not necessarily a great discovery, I’d maybe go as far as to call it… Mediocre.

That… actually makes a lot of sense and explains a part of Midnight Motorist. “He’s off to that place again,” would fit the context of Crying Child running off to a rival restaurant, only driving his father further into jealousy and revenge obsession.

  2. Come Fast To Get Into My Body says:

Honestly this is one of my favorite fnaf theories to date. It gives a real potential motive that set the story in motion

  3. Seth Hall says:

I love where Matt is going with this! In the novels charlie compares recognizing her father’s work to recognizing the writing of your favorite author. I always thought that was a weird side tangent for the book to go on but now it seems Scott was trying to show us that the design choices of these animatronics are super useful to take a look at!

You know… going back to the Chuck E. Cheese connection for theories… it feels like a circle has been closed. That first FNAF 1 theory also focused on the same connection. This feels right.

  5. karateman10998 says:

Fantastic connections. The minute differences in facial design of the animatronics is an amazing detail to spot. I think it really sells a lot of connections in this theory. Great foundation for their story. Afton’s motive makes sense. The real world connections that remind me of the very first FNAF theory. Truly taking it full circle before the full timeline.

  6. Masqueraide says:

I honestly really love the connections Matt’s making with William and Henry’s backstory. The question of “Why did William Afton start killing” has ALWAYS bothered me and up until this point the best answer anyone could ever seem to find was that the crying child, his son, had died. And it didn’t sit right with me that I had to feel such sympathy for someone who would proceed to kill SO many kids. Knowing it could have started with being jealous of Henry just sits with me better.

@Holy Sheet Might I recommend you Squimpus McGrimpus’ FNAF VHS tapes?

    • EphemeralSean says:

@Mardikus Reminds me of the Salvaged Rage music video.

    • Mica cosplay says:

I always thought that the reason was Henry. It’s the only thing that makes sense because Charlie died first! And we always knew that William was jealous since the first book. It just makes sense

    • Holy Sheet says:

There’s a theory that I like. After his child died at the hands of his brothers, micheal, William started killing kids and imagining that those kids were micheal

    • Itzi says:

@REDTEETH yes, but that’s not explaining his motivation, we always assumed the reason he went through those murders was that he was a serial killer that enjoyed killing kids, or alternatively, that he was doing it to bring back his son.
This answers what first drove him to this and also kept him spiraling down this path.

  7. Michael Smith says:

At first I was skeptical, but this turned out to be my favorite theory. And I’ve been following your FNAF theories since the very first one. All the way back with the tragic murder video. If this theory isn’t correct then whatever is is inferior. I love the idea of Afton not just being a mustache twerking villain, but a character with motives and a fleshed out back story.

Also, the cherry on top is subtly. That’s my favorite thing in any narrative I follow. I love the idea of the Melodies hiding in plain sight. The best secrets of the story and what was uncovered last was them. Please add this to your timeline even tho I’m not sure how true it might be.

Here’s to hoping this theory is right on the money! 🍻

  8. Tremendous_Timeline says:

They definitely are important, honestly I’ve believed for years that the “Trash and the Gang” is probably how the Freddy company started (just on a VERY SMALL budget)

  9. Come Fast To Get Into My Body says:

This actually makes a lot of sense, I really like this theory. There’s so much lore and its a lot to unpack. So I really like when you explain the books and the dialogue it really helps. Keep up the great work Matt and I can’t wait for your next theory!

  10. c00lm8 says:

This might be the first theory that puts most theories in place, fixating them into having more sense. It also make a whole lot more sense when you think about it, theoretically being the glue to FNAF’s lore.
