Get Out – In Theaters This February

In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Equal parts gripping thriller and provocative commentary, Get Out is written and directed by Peele (Key and Peele) and produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, as well as Sean McKittrick (Donnie Darko, The Box), Peele and Edward H. Hamm Jr. (The Box, Bad Words). The film also stars Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men series), Milton “Lil Rel” Howery (The Carmichael Show), Betty Gabriel (The Purge: Election Year), Marcus Henderson (Pete’s Dragon) and Keith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton).

It seems to be a allegory based on race, The concept could be a racial

  17. MeebleMeeble says:

White women, don’t pay attention to these statistics:

Nevermind that 92% of black fathers haven’t married the mother of their
child, and that 90% never do. Nevermind that 98% of white women with black
children say the father does not support them financially. Nevermind that
97% of white women with black children say the father plays NO role in
their child’s life. Nevermind that 94% say their child does NOT have a good
    relationship with their black father.

  18. Dun says:

Funny how more then 50% of violent crime in America is perpetrated by Black
males (that make up ONLY 7% of the population) but the media always tries
to make out white people as dangerous??

So, black guy visits white girlfriends parents, black guy led to believe
everything is all good, then starts noticing weird shit happening, but
continues to ignore it, his friend even warns him that some weird shit is
going on, obviously doesnt believe him (doesnt realize the other black
people he runs into are hypnotized and have no control over their bodies
and words they speak) until it finally hits him that he’s in danger and
that he should GET OUT just like the other black dude who temporarily
snapped out of his hypnosis tried warning him to do, butttt by then its too
late and the cult of weird ass white people start attacking him, including
his gf who was in on it the whole time (surprise!), eventually gets
captured and hypnotized against his will by his gfs mom, manages to snap
out of it just in time before it becomes permanent, manages to get away and
decides to rescue a black chick who also snapped out of it, while driving
away she snaps back into her hypnosis and goes ape shit, black guy crashes
and is knocked out, wakes back up and he’s back where he started being
captured by the weird white people, ends up getting hypnotized again and
operated on by some weird white doctors and never manages to escape and is
stuck there to be another black puppet for these weirdos. THE END. Why are
they being hypnotized? idk. What are the white people’s reason for
targeting black people? idk. what type of surgery is being performed on
them? idk. how does the black guy smoking cigarettes tie into the plot?
idk. Is this going to turn out to actually be a comedy and be more funny
than anything hence the guy who is directing it? idk. Still wanna see this
though, looks pretty good to me.
