      Have you worked in food though? Someone coming into your department store 5 minutes before you close is way different than someone coming to a restaurants 5 minutes before they close… most restaurants start to pre close and literally turn off a lot of their burners 30 minutes to sometimes even an hour before the restaurant closes. You’re literally asking the cook who’s probably still knee deep in cleaning tasks to be able to leave on time, to get all their fires burning again, make a fresh new mess, and potentially even dip into the next day’s prep to make it happen. For YOU it’s only 15 minutes past close, for the people who have to close their restaurant, though, you’re asking them to stay for at least another hour on top of their shift for that kinda stuff.
