its just a shiny rock, fk it

  2. MathematicalCoffee says:

Millenials kill industries because they have no money from no entry level jobs

  3. Our Founding Liars says:

Millenials are Reptilians, fueled off melted diamonds.  Keep Asking Questions.   I don’t know what I’m talking about

  4. GravitySloth says:

Diamonds are so lame! They’re just clear and hard. I’d think it was way more meaningful if someone got me a ruby, emerald, opal, or really most precious or semiprecious stones. Plus, you know. The slavery and murder. #FuckDiamonds

    • JeffreyDwagon says:

If someone was meaningful they’d show it without material gain.

    • Rachel Moody says:

+Alexander Santiago Diamonds can chip. They are the hardest natural material known to man, but that makes them brittle. Diamonds have fault lines that if struck will cause a part of the diamond to break off. How else would we cut them in the first place?

    • Chase Tona says:

Alexander Santiago diamonds are more hard than durable (hardness is NOT the same as toughness. Hardness means they’re unlikely to be scratched, but you can BREAK a gem-quality diamond with ease because it has perfect multidirectional cleavage) and industrial diamond is not the same as gem-grade diamond. It’s quite ugly, and it’s much tougher than gem-grade diamond. lab-created white sapphires are, for practical layman’s purposes, indistinguishable from diamonds and cost pennies on the dollar.

    • Agilemind says:

+The A9ony Column You way off topic here but without government the people most capable and/or willing to use force become the new tyrants. Even if 90+% of people just want o live peacefully with each other the 1% psychopaths will exploit everyone else even more easily than they do now.

    • Agilemind says:

+Megan Schmidt the stats I heard was that the more expensive the wedding the shorter it lasts and the larger the wedding party the longer it lasts so clearly a big BYO everything wedding is the way to go.

  5. Andrew Waddles says:

Damn good thing we’re killing the diamond industry. It’s a monopoly and we aren’t buying them because it’s an overpriced piece of rock. Fuck diamonds. And their industry, I have college tuition to worry about

    • David Beppler says:

Fuck college, it is an overpriced piece of failure. They take your money and give you nothing in return. Force the companies to send the employees to college to get the jobs the company needs filled and quit paying for it ourselves. This is a failed business model and it needs to change.

    • Alexandre de Souza says:

David Beppler I have the feeling that you have an extremely low grasp of basic logic and economics, Incredible Egoism and give little importance to freedom of choice.

    • Cornelia Hanimann says:

I didn’t know that the industry was suffering because the new generation realized the diamond industry was kind of a huge scam and a great marketing stunt that caused young men to spend a fotune on some carbon.

that’s like…the greatest news I heard in a long time.

appearently we’re doing something smarter than the previous generation. that’s good! we spend our money on other things! good

Shine bright like a rock I don’t want

  7. Fem Stranger says:

The diamond industry should rot for all eternity.

  8. Bcsoares says:

A industry that killed millions just because the product looks shiny im glad it’s dying lmao.

  9. Derek Fuller says:

    Diamonds. The best scam ever.

  11. Smaakjeks K says:

Bizarre logic from rich people: “Hey, it’s your job to make sure our business stays afloat, millennials!”

  12. Mihovil Beck says:

This needs to become a regular series.

  13. Patrick Hogan says:

Rather kill the diamond industry than a bunch of child slaves.

  14. The Timejumper says:

Why propose to someone with a literal “dime a dozen” stone, when you can do it with something actually special. Propose with the deed to a home, or a student loan payment, or, my personal favorite, the One Ring of Sauron.

Give you betrothed a ring with which she can destroy the world and remake it in her image. If that doesn’t say “I love you”/”Marry me” then I don’t know what will

  15. Night Rider says:

*I know girls CAN be just as funny as guys but….. Also Diamonds are worthless unless you’re drilling for oil*

    • Pallington - Junkrat's American Cousin says:

BW the point is this person found the speaker unfunny, however, wants to put a disclaimer that they aren’t trying to be biased, recognizing the fact of potential equality, but that this isn’t one of those cases. (why? because SJW’s and regressive left, which I’m almost certain you have witnessed)
Also with that first assertion, SOURCE PLEASE.

    • Vorname Nachname says:

I think jewellery diamonds get their worth, because the process they go through. They are cut and polished and I think the equipment for it is rather expensive. Does someone know the making costs and how much all the people who worked on one are paid?
      I’m just curious.
      (English isn’t my first language)

    • Sabrowsky says:

Or if a dentist requires to use a dental drill, yes, teeth are that hard

    • Larry Rouse says:

A large portion of industrial diamonds are manufactured these days, that’s one of the reasons for the sudden appearance of “Chocolate” diamonds in jewelry stores. They are creating a market for diamonds that used to be considered undesirable for jewelry. We used to call them “industrial grade”.

    • Teardown Dan says:

Most “industrial grade” diamonds are a waste byproduct from gemstone mining and gem-cutting. Industrial diamond prices go from $0.30 per carat for dust to $200 per carat for most coarse grades according to the USGS. Lab-grown diamonds at $3000-5000 per carat cost 20-40% less than mined optically-clear diamonds, which is still 30-500X more expensive than mined industrial diamonds.

  16. Seba Seba says:

because they’re worthless, stupid, and I’m single as shit

    • Cornelia Hanimann says:

well appearently people finally caught up with the fact that it’s a shiny rock.

so that’s not going to be a factor in your single life from now on.

  17. KennethMichaels says:

Fuck Millennials. Got to ruin everything.

  18. Ashlee Knowlton says:

    I want a fire opal.

  19. Pol Subanajouy says:

Every single on of these “Millennials are killing this industry” article is so baffling. Like, if you’re industry is so vital to the economy and you are such a good capitalist, figure out a way to sell to this market instead of whining about how the consumer is supposed to come to you and not the other way around.
