Hey there! This one was a lot of fun to make! Ever since the lawn mower video I’ve been wanting to do this, and I’ve been working on it all week. Thank you for those of you who support us on Patreon! You bring stability to my family’s life. My goal is to be a light during this time. https://www.patreon.com/smartereveryday
I know the world is a bit crazy at the moment. I wish you and your family peace and love. Spread the love and help others where you can. Look for the positive stories of people coming together in unity and try to amplify them.
There’s a lot of disinformation at the moment so if you recall what we learned together in the social media disinformation series, think twice before you share something!
Warm Regards,
Destin
@A B me 2
I love the lawn mower video and this one is awesome too! You can really see how much is going on in slowmo! Cant wait to see the next Video 😉
Destin, If you’re reading this, I want you to know you are one of the most wholesome people on youtube, period. Massive dad vibes
Keep doing what you do
I learnt more from this video than a week of online school
Hey Destin, have you explored hydroponics? It would be cool to see a video on it…
Very nice all the best
After years of using one, I’ve always wondered this and wanted to see it in slow motion. You guys took it many steps further and analyzed iit in such great detail. Again, you’re awesome.
Kinda makes me wanna see a lawn mower
Me: I work in the morning, it’s just about time for bed.
Destin: Hold my weed wacker.
6:15 never has cutting grass look this awesome
1. I passed the “Curiosity Test”. neat.
2. This just convinced me that I’ve been weed whacking with little more than really fast twizzlers.
there are too many
“In the future, entertainment will be randomly generated”
“Weed eater”
See a guy eating nugs
The comment I came here to make
I Understood That Reference
but: is this entertainment?
At least im not the only one who thought of that.
Youtube recommendations be like:
Want to watch some slowmo weed eater?
Mind if i do
That was a lot of micro plastics released into the air by a simple weed eater on the fence. Kinda crazy if you think about it.
TheNightwalker247 it’s worth it. All those plastic pieces will be eaten by animals, killing some of them. i wonder how long it will take for the rest to end up in that plastic continent somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
Josue Caban haven’t you heard of the massive extinction of insects due to DDT and the like ? I remember when I was young and we had to stop every half an hour to clean the windshield. No we don”t anymore… And who care ? Birds, for sure. Massive extinction on it’s way too. And we need them insects and birds…
Probably only a couple grams at most in this whole video – not really a crazy amount
Still not a dumb as leaf blowers… The worlds most useless tool.
@Scott Wilson I think the comment wasn’t just about this video but the impact of weed eaters in general
Wow I’ve always been wondering about this every since I was a child. Now, there’s a specific video for it.
6:16 “SmarterEveryDay” logo on weed eater. The only way you could see that, is in extreme slow motion. Made me laugh.
It was also visible in other shots, not only the slow mo.
The smart way to watermark videos

the most interesting thing is that he calls it a “weed eater”
@Linox Design lol why would germans call it an english name?
It’s a strimmer

Sounds like the one thing I keep forgetting to do during our chem labs.
Edit: typos
4:14 can just hear Clarkson saying “but it’s not The Stig—It’s The Stig’s Alabaman cousin!” Right before he starts drifting around in a tractor
Me watching how a weed eater works at 1:54 am 👁👄👁
Entire world: Literally falling apart
Smarter everyday: 😀Here’s a weed eater in slow motion😀

Me: well the small line is always gonna be 2,4mm right
The guy in vid: looks like 95 thousands of an inch
Me: Okay, if you say so
@Abhishek Ajayakumar murica
There are all different line thicknesses available, with the motor power typically the deciding factor in which are supported by a given whipper snipper.
But I was like you, 95 thousands – no idea if that’s thick, thin or in-between.
@Thermal Ions As far as I know, on all of the regular small trimmers its gonna be standard 2,4mm 90% of the time and sometimes 2,7mm. I do have a larger Husqvarna that uses 3mm line, but thats as big as it gets, you dont see it on the more common smaller ones. I have no idea what 95 thousands of an inch is, I only guess its 2,4mm.
@-FK- My Stihl AP battery powered trimmer is 2.0mm, but I’d agree most small petrol powered ones would generally be 2.4mm as you say.
It’s beyond me why anyone would consider that a superior unit of measurement over millimeters. I don’t even bother trying to convert it anymore, as soon as thousandths of an inch are mentioned by anyone I just phase out.
I was expecting a cameo from snoop
“95 thousandths of an inch”
Most of the world: w-what?
