I Played Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Hands-On Preview)
I was invited to a preview session to play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Is it as good as Breath of the Wild, or better?
A huge thank you to both Nintendo UK and Nintendo of Europe for inviting me to this event!

This is insane! I had no idea Nintendo would be doing something like this, congratz man
@Winterlogical he’s just trolling
They’ve only been advertising it for the last couple of years, I guess, pretty hard to miss
They’ve got to get their reputation back up, that’s why
@vakdjfnfielcnsjao Did you even watch the entire video zetik said this game feels way different then botw and he only got to play a little bit of the game
@vakdjfnfielcnsjao DLC doesn’t remove the abilities of the previous game
The fact that the sapphire arrow did almost 11 hearts worth of damage to Link is actually insane 😳
@Shinro /: TOO*-🤓
With low-level armor, that’s completely understandable.
@Shinro /: It makes, sense tho… Dragon scales are pretty rare.
@HighCaliber350 nah that would be TO op, but would be cool
@Emma McCartan maybe using elemental dragon parts would be the third tier of strength
I almost didn’t watch this, afraid of spoilers, but I’m glad I did finally push play. [ETA: If people have already watched Nintendo’s TOTK preview videos, you’re not going to see anything new in Zeltik’s vid.] I think Zeltik’s video is helpful, and he narrates clearly & honestly throughout. Nothing is really given away here (NO STORY AT ALL); mostly he just goes through some of Link’s available abilities and comments on them. If you’re hesitant like I was, I don’t think you have anything to worry about if you watch this. I’m very appreciative to Zeltik for his candor and his gracious presentation.
This was the comment I needed! Just finished and I concur.
Thank you I was a bit scared
@GyroMurphy Same. I didn’t watch ANY botw vids until well after I started playing. I wanted the same experience with TOTK, so I went back & forth about this vid. I read through all the comments first. I talked myself into watching because this is a sequel instead of a brand new game and I have watched all the TOTK preview vids — something I didn’t do for BOTW. I should have said that if people have already watched the preview vids, they’re not going to see anything new in Zeltik’s vid. I’ll go edit my OP now to say that. 🙂
I felt the same way. When breath of the wild came out, I didn’t watch any game play at all. Beyond this video, I’m done. I want to go in with that same wonder and excitement I felt when OOT was released. No internet to spoil the game made it so much more rewarding. Doing so made BOTW so much more fun, and it shall be so for TOTK
I love how Nintendo saw players making flying machines in BotW, and decided to make it an actual mechanic
@And Yeah Wow, the 1 billionth Nintendo sue joke. You hate Nintendo, so original and hilarious. What a band wagoner
@And Yeah No
Wait, there is a rideable hose?
@And Yeah I was gonna jest that maybe they implemented it so they wouldn’t have to sue as many people😂
Garrys mod pioneered this.
Wow, Kudos for being asked to play and being able to tell us about it. I’m 62 and have preordered and am waiting semi-patiently for the release. I didn’t have the talent or reflexes of you young players but was able to hold my own with Breath of the Wild.
@synth.iia. when? the ability wheels shown in preview footage didn’t have the old runes
@cheese Nintendo has already confirmed the old runes are in the tsme
@cheeseand either way, it looks like there will be many more ways to fight this time with the fusing ability.
@PadrouBombs don’t seem to be back as an infinite resource like Breath of the Wild but Bomb Flowers seem to be their replacement
Respect on you both OGs! Glad to have you with us on this journey.
I hope there is a way to create a “favorites” list for things you want to fuse to your arrows. It’s be nice to be able to experiment and then set your list before a certain puzzle/dungeon/encounter.
Dude, Nintendo actually had the most qualified Zelda content creator do the demo. It’s crazy how much better this video is than other demo/gameplay impression videos.
I bet pointcrow would’ve played this if he wasn’t in deep shit with Nintendo
Way better then IGNs tbh I was hoping someone would try whistle sprinting
*Cough Cough* *IGN* *Cough Cough*

This looks incredible. The amount of thought that went into the crafting system, the combat, the freedom to make literally anything?!?! I think it’s safe to say this will be one of the best Zelda games ever made
Hate that I’m so desperate to play this game that I’m watching this even though I don’t wanna see anything 😂
Edit: also super happy for you being invited to Nintendo, that must be such a great experience
Same
This is the exact mix of emotions I’m feeling. Like I’m soooooo hyped for this game and I want to inhale every scrap of information out there, but at the same time I want to be surprised and I don’t want to spoil it all for myself before I can even get my hands on it.
Pretty wild that the things that looked like magical items in the trailers (the flamethrower and rocketarm) turned out to be things you can craft using the vehicle parts! I think that putting the ventilator on the shield would make a neat item as well. Also, I hope that you can put the rocket on a hammer, and make yourself a rockethammer!
