I Tried “Perfect” Customized Mascara

I Tried “Perfect” Customized Mascara

So I saw that the makeup company Eyeko offers a custom or “bespoke” mascara service for your lashes – so I decided we needed to go online, take their quiz, and try out a customized mascara formula of our own! So we got a tube of our own custom formula – for length, definition, and curl with a dash of Korean ~tubing~ technology. What do you think? Are my lashes ~on point~?

$40 for Eyeko mascara. I remember back in the day when Eyeko had like 3 products: the chubby stick lip color balms, their tub of highlighting cream, and a similar tub of bronzing cream. All were packaged in these cute pink containers, and I’m certain everything was +/- $10. How times have changed.

She was wayyy too nice about this. Everything from the formulas looking the same, charging $20 more just for formulas they already have made, to making you pay an extra $4 for Walmart stickers when they call it ‘engraved’ just proves that this is all a huge scam.

      EXACTLY!!!

    • chumbrella says:

uh did you even watch? yes she was impressed because the product does what it promised but she was not impressed by the $4 stickers and the fact that you can get dupes on their website for a lot less, she just did not give a wild angry reaction about it

    • Offensive Username says:

“If someone expected some sort of fancy embossing for 4 bucks that’s kind of their own fault”

But you don’t expect a tiny letter sticker to cost $2 either. Other than that, I’m quite sure some of the ingredients aren’t very healthy.

I don’t get why so many people love lash paradise I hate it so much, returned it actually. But Physician’s formula makes a good mascara it’s the one that’s handle looks like a leaf.

    • bee says:

agreed, she wasn’t happy about the 4 dollar stickers, and she carefully pointed out that she doesn’t think they should charge 40 dollars for the same pre-made mascara formulas they have for sale on the website. She just didn’t have a very blunt or angry reaction. Saf is pretty nice, that’s true, but she doesn’t miss a thing.

Let me fix your problem with hitting yourself with the wand: Hold a mirror below your nose, look down, and coat your lashes that way, and get a smaller brush. These tips changed my life, because I had this problem ALLLLLL the time.

I tried the quiz and only chose “the natural look ” and it still offers black mascara with tubing technology and fibers in my formula, which doesn’t sound very natural looking to me. I have adequate lashes, but they’re really blonde, and I just want them to be visible to the naked eye, but no black mascara looks natural on me because I’m so pale. If I’m paying for a custom mascara I at least want color options.

    • Makeup Addict says:

illfayted Hello, fellow pale girl here & Iโ€™m a natural red head! I also have very light blonde/red lashes and I use Roller Lash mascara which is AMAZING. With one coat it looks super natural and effortless, especially when you use the brown color. Another thing I also like to do on โ€œno makeupโ€ look days is use clear mascara. It makes your lashes darker and when it dries down it keeps them in place so theyโ€™re nice and separated. Mac & Tarte also have really good formulas that with 1-2 coats doesnโ€™t look too heavy or too dark.

    • Kveta Tran says:

Or try brow mascara, will give you softer look and you’ll be able to pick color. And its relatively cheap ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Allyofpiratesswoop says:

Makeup Addict same blonde eyelashes red hair combination, and I love the roller lash too! Also find that tightlining makes a big difference

crystal lover actually it makes no sense and not being your first language doesn’t excuse you from not wanting to properly learn it :))) If you’re going to write it in English then make an effort to write it right

    • EscapistPrincess says:

Well, dear, it makes sense even more that others would correct you, and you should be damn grateful for it, as it is a perfect way to learn and improve your grammar. And no, English is not my first language either.

    • Lottie says:

crystal lover English is not my first language either so donโ€™t make up excuses, you did say thatโ€™s how you like to spell it even though you know thatโ€™s not correct
