India overwhelmed by world’s worst Covid crisis – BBC News

International help is being pledged for India as it battles a ferocious second wave of coronavirus, described by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a storm that has shaken the nation.

Almost 350,000 new infections were recorded in India in the latest 24 hour period – a record number for the fourth day in a row.

As the epidemic continues to grow hospitals are under intolerable pressure – with shortages of beds and critical supplies including oxygen.

I agree. They must be exhausted but unwilling to stop. Missing their families but unable to tear themselves away from health centres because they probably think ‘I have to try and save this person so I have to stay’. Unimaginable.

As an indian it’s so shameful for us that at this high time our politicians were still conducting rally and election camps and even the khumbmela (around millions of।people participate and bath in the same river )…this shows how selfish they are …and even the prices of some basic necessities are rising …I donno this is so heartbreaking that whole world stands by our side but our own leaders are hiding… thankyou so much all my brother’s and sisters for.the.support and love …it gives us hope And strength
