I hope the slow-mo Guys show their subjects the footage they recorded.
Not just the subjects, but anyone who’s present there. If I would be volunteering to the shoot, I would be curious to see what they recorded.

They do often show the footage to the people they’re with. I expect they showed the team here, too, if they wanted to see!

I am under taekwondo for over 8 years now and it actually doesn’t hurt kicking that wooden plate you just need to kick on the right way

    • Yare Yare says:

+Charles Dysart i suppose you could say that.

    • Jonathan Bubley says:

Charles Dysart yup. However during belt testing it’s usually real wood and not safety wood as we’ll call it.

    • Yare Yare says:

+Jonathan Bubley very true. though thats because its for actual testing, this is just a nice show to go “PHWOAR DID YOU SEE THAT!?’ lol i actually still have a scar on my foot from when i got my chodan bo. i cut my foot on a the board after it broke with a bit of an edge. didnt notice until i kicked the next board and splatter the people holding the boards with blood. was gross. but i least i can say I bled for my belt

And notice how the foot that first extends to the board only carries the body, while the other foot tends to whip around from behind. Doing that creates even more of an energy transfer, because you’re getting the momentum plus the force of your muscles.

Although these boards, when hit correctly, are pretty flimsy. That doesn’t mean they can’t do power breaking though. But the focus here is more on the acrobatics—plus, having boards raining down on you is more comfortable with flimsy ones than heavy ones

6:25 I think watching the athletes taking their fighting stance has rubbed off on Gav a bit there… 😀 So cute, now I can’t unsee it.

    • TashaTheTabbyCat says:

OMG that’s so cute, I think it was just an adjustment but I much prefer thinking hes trying to stance-up

  17. Nokia says:

The best defensive move they have learned from taekwondo is that freaking shout . I wouldn’t want to go against whatever makes that sound . They win before the fight starts .
