I love how the visuals of the entire song have her putting herself between Mirabel and the dangers. It emphasizes the point of the song, but it’s also just really sweet.

Also, pay attention to her facial expression and her voice in the last part where everything goes red and rocks are falling (Followed by the family home). She sounds so desperate.
she’s also so gentle with Mirabel. Just does the big sister thing, adjusting her glasses and clothes and she always does it with extra care. Its so heartwarming that even though Mirabel feels so far from her sister’s, Luisa clearly cares for her and tries to take care of her.

It’s a mark of a great song/character when so many people can see themselves in them. Giving a voice to what many older siblings have felt before…and doing it with a heck of a beat. 👏👏👏

I think this song is relatable for everyone! As someone with no siblings, but have been in abusive situations their entire life and feeling responsible for looking after your family despite it not being your job. You feel so responsible for everyone!

I was a carer for both my parents before they died. I’m now looking after my uncle. Only child but I had to be the srong one. I couldn’t break because if i did everyone else would.

@Jade of course, it’s just that everything she’s portrayed as is just the result of poor treatment by the family. (I might be a bit prejudiced because of own experiences. It just feels for me that praising people for traits they learned through trauma takes away from the pain they felt)
