Smother me with your bacon is definitely porno.

Beau Choi Smother doesn’t necessarily have to apply to liquids. I smothered my little brother with a pillow and now I’m an only child.

Martina I don’t know why Canadians always have to get Timmies forced on us as hyper-Canadian when it both sucks balls AND is owned by an American company. Especially when Second Cup is 100% Canadian owned and serves fantastic coffee. Also, our health care system is great…if you’re 20-years-old and your health issues can wait a year or two to address. Try having cancer or some other serious disease and you’re in trouble. My mom’s alive because she’s also American (naturalized) and was able to use their wonderful and QUICK health care to address her chronic leukemia within a week. And she isn’t rich just had good insurance.

Shaun Pearson lol tims is way better.

Only in America … do they play the national anthem in a game that is NOT an international competition.

In the rest of the world, anthems are played only at games where two or more countries are playing against each other.

  13. Sarah Sultan says:

She’s a great singer, no doubt about that, she was just too extra in this performance for no reason.

  14. Anjushree Verma says:

I could tell they were mentally trying to prepare for the game, but at the same time they’re going WTF! 🙄😂

  19. Stout Shako says:

I liked the interpretation tbh. I feel like a more skilled singer could have pulled it off (Beyonce, Alicia Keys, etc). Fergie, as much as I like her stuff (I know some people consider it trashy, but leave me alone — Fergilicious defined my high school years), just didn’t have the range. Or the talent.

Sorry, boo. You flew too close to the sun with this.

    • TuberosityTime says:

Yup. When it comes to an NBA All-Star anthem, people often think of Marvin Gaye – and, yes, there is an opportunity to think outside the box a little for this event (as opposed to, say, the Super Bowl). Even a skilled singer would have to be very thoughtful about a rendition in this direction. I thought it actually sounded like she was trying to “Miss Celie’s Blues” the anthem or something. You really need finesse and pinpoint pitch (oh, the pitch) accuracy along with the correct, subtle emotional tone to even head into an arrangement like that. I would likely only put money on someone like Tata Vega or Lisa Fischer being able to have pulled off what I think Fergie had in her head – meaning someone with session-recording/touring recognized superior vocal skill (not even a pop culture level singer)
