John Oliver Never Thought He’d Have To Care About Trump

When John Oliver was on the Late Show back in the fall, he didn’t care about Donald Trump. Now, sadly, he has to.

Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family — and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves — Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!”

John gave Stephen a run for his money… watching these two spar is pure
entertainment. Hoping Oliver will be back… not so sure!

Trumpistas support the Golden Schlong because he bugs the establishment.
You know what else bugs the establishment? Thermonuclear war. That doesn’t
mean thermonuclear war is good. It just means that it’s demonstrably bad.
Unless you’re a bed-wetting rebellious adolescent, you might want to
support someone who ISN’T a narcissistic sociopath spouting a set of vague
incoherent ideas one day; and then totally disavowing them for a new set
    the next.

OK, what? Trump was like ye olde Englishe kings? Nope John, we had a Trump
last election. His name was Nigel Farage.

Admittedly slightly more moderate than Trump, but same principles: acted
like he was a “normal bloke” (whatever the fuck that is) while pushing
prejudicial rhetoric and policies that would damage the UK. Nowhere near as
extreme as Trump, but over here he was the most right-wing we’ve seen in
years (except the BNP, and they’re like our KKK).

He never won, thank goodness, but his party was still the third-most-voted
party in the last election – and that’s in a relatively progressive
country! At least Farage had policies and had his economic plans verified,
that’s one thing in his favour over Trump.

Omg Stephen actually touched upon the inadequacy of the US not having a
parliament!! It hardly ever gets mentioned in the media.

don’t you wish there really were FEMA camps? …..advertise to the
Trumpsters for a fun summer holiday, if you voted Trump you get a free
summer vacation….and then slam the gates shut and let sane people have
    the country back…..
When you come to Trumpsters, the holiday’s forever!!!

“If Jay-Z wears it, we’d run out. If his wife does, we’re no longer a TV
show, we’re a hat company now”. Absolute hilarity.

I love how John Oliver keeps saying that HBO is selling the Drumpf hats at
cost. Not sure how many of you have ever worked in the garment/clothing
industry – but I promise, that hat did not cost $17.50 to make.

Sadly, by cracking incessant “lookit this guy!” jokes, people like Colbert
and Oliver built Trump into what it is today.
