@torontomame To me, she is an Icon. She proved herself so many times since 2001. She Got dropped off her label 3 times but bounced back. Came in like a storm with I Kissed A Girl, was called a one-hit wonder but she proved once again that she’s a force to be reckoned with. 6 number ones from one album, her incredible SuperBowl show, her work ethic to always deliver a good show and in her whole career she never cancelled a show. I think only one was postponed, ONLY ONE! Katy, along with Lady Gaga are established Icons.
She converted me, it was awesome!
That’s not what “icon” means, but then hardly anyone uses it correctly nowadays. But it was definitely a good performance.
