Sounds like an anxiety disorder of some sort with a phobia trigger.

Good for her knowing what causes it and avoiding it, I doubt meds would solve this mind trip of an issue dealing with dermatological feedback.

I can understand not wanting to be touched by people esp with hand to hand contact.

Andy I guess? Glad she kows at least

    • Nut Suphanat says:

I think specifically it’s OCD, a type of Anxiety Disorder. Many people thought that the only phobia associated with OCD is Germaphobia but that is sadly not the case. OCD usually presents itself with some sorts of phobias that even the sufferer do not agree why she has to fear such thing. Although it is more common for someone to have Germaphobia from OCD, OCD can lead to other types of phobias as well. I have OCD, and when something that is what I am phobic about appears in front of me, my heart raced, and one time I literally puked. Now, I get the help I needed, and although I still have that phobia, I don’t puke as a result of the phobia anymore. Without treatment, it will get worse. It might seem funny now but soon when she was literally puking because of her phobia, it will turn her life into a nightmare. I hope she gets the help from professional psychiatrists that she needs.

P.S. I am not a psychiatrist. I jus suffered from OCD, and other psychiatric disorders, so I just want to share my experience. If Kristen Bell happens to read this, or anyone who have something similar, I advice whoever it was that see this to go see a psychiatrist immediately to see if you really have this disorder because it WILL ruin one’s life as you enjoy it real fast without proper treatment!

    • Nut Suphanat says:

Probably, Kristen might not be phobic of germs, and she might only be phobic of touching something wet but the fact that it made her feel like puking, when she gets her hands wet made me suspect OCD is the cause. Please read my first comment above on why I think this is the case.

Sounds like some form of ocd. She may just dislike that specific texture that fingers give off.

    • My Thoughts says:

Zack No not really , if you hear nails on a chalkboard it bothers you this is just like that . But to some level it is also a mental issue , your body might be slightly against it but your brain puts that feeling on steroids. So…

    • Nut Suphanat says:

I created some other comments on this topic somewhere else in this comment section as well but I am going to copy some of my response, and pasted it below, so people reading this will understand why this might be the case of OCD.

As someone with OCD, that’s what I thought too – although it would only really be that if she starts having to check the gloves for holes, has to stay a certain distance and constantly monitors it, etc. But yeah, I can’t touch those clay pots that people use for plants. Even thinking about the texture causes a reaction.

    • Randomfools says:

I would not be surprised at all if she deals with some form of OCD daily outside of that. That issue sounds serious enough that she would over think it to decide to get gloves. I could imagine the thoughts running through her head and all the what ifs, if she couldn’t enter the water with her kids. That would be the OCD part of it.

It’s called Misophonia, I have the same thing and I can’t stand when people whistle, burp, to sit near people when they eat either because I can hear them chew & it makes me livid. & people are like β€œignore it” but with Misophonia you can’t ignore it, you literally focus on the sound bothering you until it stops. & no I’m not joking look it up if you don’t believe me. My mom used to joke on me when I told her it was actually a brain disorder until her friend shared it on Facebook. πŸ™„
