Leicester City BEATS Manchester City in the FA Community Shield | ESPN FC Highlights

Leicester City resumes their impressive run in the Premier League, beating powerhouse Manchester City in the 99th FA Community Shield thanks to a penalty from Kelechi Iheanacho. Kasper Schmeichel and Zack Steffen each produced a brilliant save in the first half of play, and Leicester City emerged as the dominant side in the second half. The entry of Jack Grealish into the match did little for Pep Guardiola’s side, and in the end Nathan Ake took down Iheanacho in the box, which led to the game’s only goal.

Steffen looks like he played a great game.

Both keepers were great the whole game. Tbh the defense was shoddy though

      He did

@a·fi·ci·o·na·do The III if you think that then you clearly didn’t watch the preseason matches. He assisted a Mahrez goal against Blackpool that was absolutely beautiful

    • Jancinta Malix says:

@Ab the problem was Rodri’s pass. Ake was incredible. If you freeze the frame you’ll see that both Dias and Ake were point to to Rodri to pass the ball to Dhino. Instead he decided to pass it back to Ake which set him up to fail. I wish more people would actually pay attention to the game. The fault lies with Rodri. Ake didn’t even want the ball

    • Mr Beaner says:

Lmao he plays in the this tournament because he can’t play in the prem😭

  2. Ab says:

Leicester know how to choke out these big clubs. First Chelsea in the same stadium and now City. They’re making history

    • Omar Pinto says:

      Leicester is lethal in finals!

@I Don’t Make Videos Tell that to Leicester City. Another cup in the closet. Winning breeds more winning.

    • Aditya Luthra says:

      @airsama 2? 😂

Gundogan, Mahrez, Fernandinho, Dias, Cancelo? And those 5 cost more than the entire Leicester squad combined…

    • airsama says:

@Aditya Luthra cancelo isn’t a starter and I wasn’t talking about costs. Not sure what your point is. Have a good day.

    • Aditya Luthra says:

@airsama You edited your original comment LMAO. You said City only had 2 of their strongest XI playing, and I named you 5 which is essentially half the team. Plus, City introduced a 100 Million Pound player in the 65th minute. There are no excuses for their loss.

And even some of the bench players that City played, Like Mendy and Aké, are 40 Million Pound signings themselves… Bernardo and Rodri were introduced as subs so I’m not sure what you mean by “B/C” squad…

  3. AFC Queer Coffee says:

Steffen should go to a club where he can start. He’s a class keeper but he won’t be able to challenge Ederson for the #1. Maybe a team like Palace or Newcastle

  4. Juan Munoz says:

Steffan had an incredible performance in this match.

  5. Chris Gaming says:

Steffen should request a transfer offer. Only games he plays are these type of games and friendlies. He deserves a better club where we could ACTUALLY START

    • Max Singleton says:

I know right, 4:13 was absolutely crazy how he saves that shot.

    • Chris Gaming says:

@Michael McCuei can see him going to any club like you said Arsenal after Leno retires but any other club could buy Steffen.

    • Xd merchant says:

@Daniel Flores Resendiz everyone also said that about half the players pep chokes out of the starting 11

    • Wet Monkey Scalp says:

@Jacob Icard his talent isn’t, true, but again he knew he was joining a team with Ederson in his position, he knew he would be second.

    • Jacob Icard says:

@Wet Monkey Scalp he is very talented and that is the reason he came to United he is a number #1 GK who happens to be playing behind one of the best in the world.

  6. Uzo Design says:

I can’t believe this is the same Kelechi Iheanacho. He has really turned things around for himself.

  7. SLADE says:

Daka has now won more trophies in his first game for Leicester then Harry Kane has with spurs. Lad should’ve stayed 😂😂😂

    • Tio Whuelinho says:

I get that it’s a joke but its just dumb fan logic and contradicts reality. Kane wouldn’t be who he is today if he had stayed at Leicester.

    • Ayodamola Ajala says:

Bro the community shield isn’t a real trophy 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️.it’s a charity plate

    • eduardo21FIFA says:

@Tio Whuelinho Well Vardy has been pretty good, Kane could have done better who knows?

    • Aubazette says:

@Tio Whuelinho with the way kane is now the only ones who will remember him 50 years from now are spurs fans whereas winning trophies cements more legacy

    • Recency Bias Radio says:

      Lmfao

  8. Mazdak Mina says:

Zach Steffen: Man of the Match! So many saves he had *no business* making!

Glad Leicester won though! Love seeing a club punch well above its weight (a Premier League title, an FA Cup, and now a Community Shield in just the last 6 years! What a special spell for this team)!

  9. Shaq from #ShaqTV says:

Two years later, I don’t believe Pep whispered in Ake’s ear and told him “we need a left footed center back” 😂

  10. Shrijit Koirala says:

Brendan Rodgers is a genius, very underrated, pretty confident that Leicester will challenge for the top 4 this season as well. Brendan doesn’t get the credit that he deserves and is someone that a club like Arsenal should pursue and I’m a Liverpool supporter.

    • Andre Otshudi says:

@Nevan Bragg exactly man I don’t get why they always mess it up at the end of the season

    • Alvin says:

Acting like winning this trophy changes the fact they bottled top 4 last season

    • Kevin Garcia says:

Lol let’s not get carried away now. Don’t get me wrong, Leicester have been on a nice run lately but they aren’t making top 4

    • garowe22 says:

@Kevin Garcia Spot on. They had a chance last season and the season before for Top 4 and they bottled it both. This season City, United, Pool and Chelsea have all gotten better so realistically Leicester should finish top 6.

    • BBR2 says:

Yeah he does get credit. Late last season Tottenham were said to be considering Rodgers. Before we throw around the genius label let’s see what happens at the tail end of this season. Does Leicester fall out of the Champions League race or do they finally qualify ?
