Capitalism and all non-marxist school of economics are the worst economic systems and will always be the worst economic systems, and that’s the undebatable truth. there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and all who support it are bootlickers. Even modern day china under the revisionists is still a better place to live than fascist America because atleast then China will transition from Deng Xiao Ping Theory to a Communist economy, and even under the current economy of the People’s Republic of China it’s still leagues better. If you consider how democratic a nation to be based on its real accomplishments; faithful representation in government, quality of life, per capita greenhouse emissions, rate of incarceration etc America is thoroughly outcompeted on the world stage. And before you say “WhAt AbOuT ThE UsSr”, As American Imperalist Propaganda would like to make you believe, the root cause of the USSR’s collapse was the poor economic growth it recorded from 1970-1991. Many in the west see the stagnation and collapse of the Soviet Union as an inevitable consequence of central planning. A fundamental flaw in this argument is that it assumes that the economy of the USSR under Stalin was the same as the economy of the USSR under the leaders that succeeded him. Yes, although the USSR did not abandon planning after Stalin died, its control over it greatly diminished, leading to negative outcomes. As G.I. Khanin put it in his article, The 1950s: The Triumph of the Soviet Economy. After 1953 there was a sharp weakening of the state’s supervisory functions in the economy. The totally justified and timely reduction of the punitive function of the MVD in the political sphere was accompanied by a similar reduction, if not abolition, of that function in the economic sphere, where it had played a positive role by providing the political leadership with objective information about the state of affairs in the economy. This reduction was entirely in the interests of the economic nomenklatura, a considerable part of which wanted a lack of supervision so they could both paint a favourable picture of the situation and enrich themselves. At the same time, there was a reduction in economic supervision by other control organs (the procuracy, the ministry of state control and departmental control organs). In other words, the control system which is absolutely essential for any centralised system, and especially in the command economy, where control by the market is absent, was to a significant degree dismantled in the 1950s. When the dangerous consequences of this were partially recognised at the beginning of the 1960s and more careful checking of the activities of economic organisations and organs of power began, a very significant level of corruption and abuse was revealed. Around 12,000 leading personnel, including 4,000 party workers, were brought to court then for these abuses. 44 The weakening of control by the centre was named by Mancur Olson as the major reason for the steep decline in efficiency of the command economy after the death of Stalin: ‘As soon as communist power began to be dispersed communism was doomed to collapse’ As G.I. Khanin notes, this type of weakening of state control is not viable for centrally planned economies. Stalin’s model provided valuable information to the central government, which is essential to any centrally planned economy. This change served the interests of no one except the opportunistic nomenklatura. Khanin goes on to note the awful reforms put in place by the post-Stalin government In the second half of the 1950s ill thought-through and hasty economic reforms were carried out, which seriously worsened the management of economic life. Although the branch system of management had many shortcomings (departments were too closed and little account was taken of local peculiarities), the system of management of industry and construction introduced in its place in 1957 had even more (localism, loss of management of branches as a whole, and territories now became closed). It seriously obstructed the management of scientific and technical progress. In conclusion: The changes in the economic mechanism and the methods by which it operated noted above meant that by the end’of the 1950s the classical command economy system formed in the 1930s-1940s was to a considerable extent dismantled and came to have in many respects only a formal character. This fact played a very important role in the slow-down in the economic development of the USSR from the end of the 1950s. Hence claims that the command economy was the cause of this slow-down are very superficial. Little remained of it by this time. In support of this idea I shall quote the vehemently anti-communist Egor Gaidar and the experienced economic manager N. Nazarbaev. The former called 1929-53 ‘the only period when communism triumphed’.47 Nazarbaev wrote in 1991: ‘For three decades [i.e. since the end of the 1950s] we simply have not had a planned economy. The term concealed not simply other methods of economic management but appallingly bad management and irresponsibility. Besides that, the United States is surprisingly (or very unsurprisingly, to those with a brain) not the “freest” country in the world, it is true that the United States generally allows a relatively greater freedom of speech and freedom of the press than many other countries. But only in the sense that there is usually less suppression of publications and ideas here through laws and government force than in many other countries. The reason for this is that the U.S. ruling class has come close to perfecting the suppression of ideas it disapproves of through an alternative method; that is, through its control of the economic system and its nearly total control of the media and means of communication and education in the country. Thus, individuals can usually say what they like even if it goes against the interests and desires of the capitalist class, but still only on the condition enforced by the capitalist ownership and control of the media, that very few other people will ever get a chance to hear what the dissenters have to say. It is the genius of this evil system that it still effectively silences most dissent while loudly proclaiming the supposed freedoms of speech and the press! However, whenever the ruling class does feel seriously threatened by information and ideas that go against its interests, it does not shrink from forcible suppression, no matter what its Constitution says about the freedom of speech and of the press. At the present time the (so-called) U.S. Justice Department is attempting to intimidate, and even arrest and jail, some of those who engage in purely verbal support work for people’s struggles against injustice around the world. Their excuse is that free speech must be suppressed in order to fight “terrorism”. And besides, if capitalism is so good, then why is there a recession every other day, insanely high pay gaps between the rich and the poor, and people starving on the streets, these are some basic questions most capitalists cannot give good answers to because there is no good answer, these issues would not be issues in the first place under communism. Capitalism is a system of pure greed and doesn’t benefit the working class at all while Communism is a system based off of human need, you’d be foolish to support it.
