This needs to be on the radio everywhere. I was thinking just the other day that Luke Combs is one of few people able to turn everyday life into something beautiful with every song.

This good ol’ boy is one hell of a man. Being an aspiring singer/songwriter, tractor trailer driver and recently applying to the Canadian Armed Forces roughly six weeks before the outbreak I respect this man. It was always my dream to be a country singer but chose to drive trucks and later, join the military. After I this pandemic is over my dream is to serve as a MSE Op for a few years and then chase another dream and become a singer/songwriter. This song here is my inspiration. People like this truly love the fans and love what they do. To all the doctors, nurses, first responders, truckers, military and singer/songwriters y’all truly bring out the best in people and release a lot of stress during these trying times. God bless you Mr. Combs

Something about Luke’s music is so nostalgic, even if it’s a new song.

  20. Luke Combs says:

When the dogwoods start to bloom
And the crickets hum their tune
    It’s usually about the time
    That I feel most alive

But the news has all been bad
And the world just seems so sad
I ain’t had much else going on
So I sat down and wrote this song

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
    Giving hugs and shaking hands
    It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

First thing that I’m gonna do
Is slide on in some corner booth
Take the whole damn family out
And buy my buddies all a round
Pay some extra on the tab
Catch a movie, catch a cab
Watch a ballgame from the stands
    Probably over wash my hands

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
    Giving hugs and shaking hands
    It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
    Giving hugs and shaking hands
    It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

Well there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart
