You also put in a layer of polypropylene fabric that fabric is found in shopping reusable bags. Is non woven and protects you more.

    • Miss Me says:

Great tip. Do you just cut one in the same shape and add 1 layer?

    • Vee M says:

HI Mireya. Great! idea. i have plenty. Would you suggest using the polypropylene on the inside of the mask or outside of the mask?

    • Linda Harris says:

We tried it, but it wasn’t very breathable. Non-woven interfacing works better and still provides protection.

    • Amanda says:

Linda Harris Thank you for posting your experience. I was wondering if you could breathe through it. I’m claustrophobic when it comes to masks, so I have been trying to figure out a good combination of protection and breathable.

  16. Diane Felice says:

Just finished making this and it was super easy! Also, much less bulky than other masks I’ve tried. I also added a wedge of interfacing to each half – to act as another layer of protection.

I went on several videos and ask them specifically what size is adults and kids… They kept telling me to go on rhis and that page. I explained i didn’t have a computer to upload a template. In all actuality, your page and video is the most OUTSTANDING and i applaud you for ur sizes, time and effort. Thank you and God BLESS

Good instructions for sewing by hand, using the wire to bring the elastic threw the seam was good. Hand sewing can be relaxing and this would be a good lesson for younger people wanting to make a mask and learn to sew. Good job.
