Seeing the way his face is in the thumbnail, I am scared.

Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, and Josh Lawson as Kano really saved this movie.

    I love how Cole’s superpower is 3D printing 🥴

  4. Slimy Yet Satisfying says:

Props to the actor who played Kano. His back must have killed him having to carry the entire movie.

Nah I think the Kano and Sub-Zero are the highlights of this movie. Hopefully in the sequel they can make Lui Kang and Johnny Cage shine. We need need Cole Young as the main protagonist.

Kano was great, but it felt like an entirely different movie when Scorpion and Sub-Zero were on the screen. They killed it….and each other. lol Also, I didn’t really care for Cole and would’ve preferred if he wasn’t in the movie. I don’t understand why they didn’t just have Johnny Cage in those scenes instead of Cole.

facts 💯💯.. Kano Was the movie, Sub zero was the perfect BADGuy, Scorpion was Awesome as well.. outside of that.. this movie SUCKED!!!, I’ve lost all hope for any kind of movie franchise for this excellent game series.

@Jay Wilk your capping the movie was good I think you might need to rewatch it again the movie was great but at the same time it was short

    • Jay Wilk says:

@Lateek Griffin For me it sucked. I was cringing less than halfway through the movie. Mostly for the reasons Chris mentioned: the editing, the weaker less interesting main character. There are definitely more reasons but what makes a good movie (in my opinion) are a good story, editing that supports the strength of the story, and the acting. I can over-look pretty much everything else. Mortal Kombat fell short in all 3 areas. Granted some of the actors were amazing i.e: Kano, Scorpion and Sub Zero but as a whole.. the movie fell way short.. i didn’t have high expectations to begin with but….. smh..I’m disappointed

The guy who played jax said he made the mistake of watching the raid the night before his fight scene with Taslim.
“I gotta fight this dude tomorrow?” 🥶

  6. KingOfGames says:

They should’ve added liu Kang’s iconic, Bruce Lee’s, “yatahtahtahtah” when he did the kick.

  7. Diogo Ubermensch says:

Adding that Cole as the main character was an insult, but Hyroyuki Sanada as Scorpion made my mouth stay open for about 5 minutes. Fucking awesome.

    • Adam Albert says:

I totally agree. I don’t know the mortal Kombat lore. But I think I did read somewhere the director was forced to add Cole by the studio

  8. Cripi says:

He said he liked Sub-Zero, he said he liked The Raid, but he didn’t mention Joe Taslim, the actor who played both in The Raid and Sub-Zero.

  9. THEREDAKAY says:

I wouldn’t call characters walking out fine from a beat down a flaw in this movie, it’s literally a main aspect of the games with X-rays and power moves.

    • Nerdgasam says:

Yeah when they get the Arcana they seem to get a base level of superhuman strength, speed and durability, I thought about that while re watching it for the second time and I am OK with it because as you said it is like the games, all the characters are basically superhuman in the games. It also occurred to me that MK is like a super violent version of the Avengers, they protect the earth realm from magical threats from other universes soooo

Joe Taslim is so underrated. He’s a rare mix of a great martial artist that can actually act. Check out The Raid and The Night Comes For Us which are 2 great movies

    • Swann says:

Check out Warrior too, the show made by the Banshee team.

He and Iko Uwais, the main character from The Raid along with Yayan Ruhiyan a.k.a The Mad Dog are from Indonesia which is my country. And they are good martial artists who can acts and show the world what Pencak Silat (Indonesian Martial Art) is. Too bad in Indonesia, Joe mostly played in comedy or drama movie while Iko and Yayan go International and even appeared at The Force Awaken as The Kanjiklub members and got wasted.
