Natalie Portman Pirouettes in Pain While Eating Spicy Wings | Hot Ones

Natalie Portman is an Oscar-award winning actress, a Star Wars alum, and the producer of a new documentary based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s seminal book about factory farming, Eating Animals. But how is she with hot food? Find out as the Hollywood icon takes on a lineup of vegan drumsticks slathered with some of the spiciest sauces in the world. As the Scoville bombs rain down on her tongue, Portman discusses her beloved SNL rap performances, her Harvard days, and why it’s cool that Kanye used ballet dancers in his “Runaway” video.

If you were appearing on Hot Ones, what would you put on your rider? (Note: We are very unprofessional and probably would not fulfill the request, but in theory what would you ask for?)

QUESTION FOR THE VEGANS: At some point we will be able to adequately and efficiently 3d print real meat. This will eliminate the necessity factory farming. Would you eat this meat? Would it be immoral because they used organic animal cell tissue?

    • Will Sutton says:

As long as it’s environmentally sustainable, yes

    • Jared Popowski says:

Yes, I would 100% eat lab grown meat.

    • custombikelife says:

hoosd42 it’s more about cloning parts of meat tissue without having to breed and kill an animal basically creating meat from nothing but original animal tissue/ dna

Rick Sanchez “Omega fatty acids and micro nutrients not found in factory farmed beef”. Please elaborate. First, exactly what are micro nutrients and how exactly are they different from the vitamins and minerals that are generally called nutrients? Second, which elements exist in your recommended beef that are not present in factory farmed cattle? That’s so vague that I must ask the most basic question: is it not dependent on the food source? Unless the castle creates some “micro nutrients” at a ranch that it doesn’t at a farm, I just don’t know what you’re talking about.

  5. Eric Walker says:

I love Nat and she is seriously so gorgeous here, but why do I feel like she is so dead inside… like this episode seemed so blah. I was expecting so much more

    • Tevrus says:

Natalie spent a lot of her younger life being harassed and seen as a sex object because of her debut acting role. She was just a pre-teen. She learned to make herself seem as composed and non-sexual as possible to avoid all that. The habit still sticks. She’s austere.

some people are boring in real life

    • Rick Sanchez says:

It’s the music. Music sets the tone, and it has been horrendously depressing and slow for a while now.

    • Patrick Wilmes says:

Yes it was a bland interview…The start of this new season is already a huge letdown

    • s tdd says:

Bruh she’s a human not all of us have great personalities

  6. Jake's Place says:

I read that book years ago and it changed my whole life. Everyone should read it as it addresses more than just the typical vegan stereotype of “please don’t hurt cows”, but also the environmental impact, the economy, health and so much more. It’s a powerful read and very important for the sake humanities future.

    • Beastmode 101 says:

Jake’s Place sorry to say but in my community. We can’t afford to go vegan. 20$ dollars I can go buy pork and beef and eat for a week but with that same amount of money I wouldn’t be able to eat for more than a day or two as a vegan. It’s not as simple as just changing your diet. People just can’t afford it.

    • Dizeliun says:

I personally would try it out, but don’t think I would eat it daily. Meat is extremely bad for our health.

    • Jacob Brassard says:

      Meat tastes good

    • Cob33ter says:

Dizeliun no it isnt, highly processed red meat is. Fish and other white meats are just fine, recommendation for red meat is about half a kilo per week.

I’m sorry, this is the worse excuse to not go Vegan. Vegan foods are actually some of the cheapest foods. Rice, pasta, beans, legumes, fruits, veggies. Meat is the expensive choice… So what are you talking about ?

  7. John J says:

I think we should get these wings out onto a tray with Steve1989mreinfo

  10. Jock McBile says:

I already loved Natalie Portman, but now I admire her too. The amount of the Last Dab Reduxx she laid on her wing. HOLY SHIT.

  11. donofdeaths says:

I was against veganism until she said once a week. I could do one day out of a week…

    • We The Animals says:

*Also plz check out (and share) my video I uploaded on speciesism. Quite related.* Thx! 🙂

    • Curtis White says:

      We The Animals no

    • Curtis White says:

Chris Robinson but you still are using animal products every day and you dont even realize it lol so you’re not actually vegan

    • William Hyde says:

That’s not veganism. That’s just very slightly less animal murder. I was against not killing animals until she said kill one less animal per week. I guess i could do that. Technically i could also not kill any animals at all but tuck you!!! And fuck animals!!!

    • Dropthatboombox says:

yes, it’s actually very reasonable and achievable target. I am fortunate enough to live in a city where buddhism is quite common, so getting a nice, cheap vege meal is easy and refreshing, even in the midst of great Asian dishes. Ignore those buffoons that said you will compensate with more meat the next meal.
