😔 You can literally see the disappointment in Saban’s eyes…

    • Pine Forest says:

I can see it even not “literally.” I can simply see it.

@Dewknow he’ll probably get Vehicular manslaughter its his first offense and the firearm while intoxicated in Nevada won’t give him that much time it’s a misdemeanor With a Good lawyer he’ll be out in like 2-5 years and that’s even if he even get convicted of everything he’ll probably be on somebody’s roster in the future

    • Ngary 5 says:

@MASON HOPP that dui probably won’t stick especially if he’s not a repeat offender in Nevada

    • Mark Williams says:

@Mark Tarvin Right & Pay I hope he does. Nothing special about the piece of 💩.

  5. K.L. says:

As an OU fan, I have come appreciate coach Saban for football reasons, but this is amazingly well said coach. I feel the same way. Thanks for your thoughtful response to this serious situation 🙏🏻

  6. Paritosh Dayal says:

From an Auburn grad here this is just so sad on so many different levels. I can’t believe what has happened. So many lives changed forever. But coach Saban continues to represent the state of Alabama in the best way possible as always. War eagle and prayers for everyone involved.

    • Joel Fetner says:

@Forrest Lost Auburn University people swarmed into Tuscaloosa after that huge tornado devasted the city. University of Alabama students & instructors went to Auburn in order to help save the Live Oaks at Toomer’s Corner after that idiot from Dadeville poisoned them.
Stay out of our state. You don’t get it.

    • Mykull Davidson says:

      @Paritosh Dayal
Please explain how a Bama-Auburn thing is any different than a USC-UCLA, Va.-Va. Tech, Texas-Texas A7M, or any other instate college football rivalry or just human nature in general. You don’t honestly think that being a fan of something makes you any different than a fan of something else, right? You do understand that human nature doesn’t change due to location or college football fandom, right?

Also, your comment is basically proving the idea that sports(especially college) fans are garbage humans and that it takes some sort of strength to just be a good human towards a rival in something you don’t even play due to a fabricated sense of belonging, tribalism, and unnatural pride in the accomplishments of others. Hell, the majority of college football fans never even went to a college, and since some colleges don’t even have teams, those people just randomly pick or already had a favorite college team, yet they act as if their whole personality is based on a school they’d never be smart enough to get in. It’s very much like praying on social media just to get a bunch of “amens” or any other type of pandering attempts to appear altruistic when you’re actually just seeking attention while trying to look as if you’re above the fray in really tragic times.

Plus, if a welder dies, do you think anyone gives a shit if you flip burgers before paying your respects? Highly doubtful but there might be. Also, statistically, one person an hour dies due to drunk drivers, this has happened before with famous people, so, just what can’t you believe what has happened?

Anyway, I doubt you’ll even take anything I said under consideration, so, just keep on believing that your largesse knows no bounds.

    • Mykull Davidson says:

Hell, I didn’t even have to look far to prove my point. The comment right under yours by a moron named Dontron says this:
“From a gator fan. Amazing words coach couldn’t of said it better than myself”

And some other moron named 🏛South House Productions🏛 responded with this:
      “Classy Gator fan.”

See, South House is predisposed to think Gator fans have no class, which is why they said what they did when Dontron felt they had to show how classy they were by just being a good human despite being a fan of a different team. It’s moronic tribalism of a consumer product and it’s as simple as that.

    • Bender2497 says:

@Forrest Lost As a Florida grad I think that Paritosh was just trying to show a little sympathy on the situation to their rival fanbase.

    • eddie money says:

@Mykull Davidson I agreed with you that as if saying who your a fan of had any relevance to this situation at all but geez dude you took it a little too far in the second comment. A lot of people use sports as an escape and an outlet to find joy in life you don’t have to be so negative about it

  7. Susan Taylor says:

Saban is always great on messaging & his concern for his players.

  8. Eric Cartman says:

Henry made a bad decision and thus the consequences of killing someone are devastating. Thoughts and prayers to the victims family.

    • Jaime Alvarez MD says:

More than just a bad decision. He killed an innocent young girl and her dog

Yeah it’s not about football. It’s about life. Bad decisions come when your out at 330 in the morning. I love ALABAMA and love Ruggs. But you can’t disregard life so carelessly.

@Misguided Angel if she was conscious the speed must not have mattered that much

    • Get Served says:

3:00 am is known as the devils hour and a girl was burned alive. That’s crazy! Also, I feel so sorry for her may she rest in peace

    • jackie chan says:

@godspeed_6x well the point being he had no business being up that late drinking and driving. It’s what a lot of coaches tell their players. It was a pun poorly received lol.

    • Jonathon P says:

@Dr. Spatulamaybe if he isn’t going so fast the car never catches fire and Henry isn’t being charged with murder right now.

    • Dr. Spatula says:

@Jonathon P maybe if she were conscious she also gets out of the car

  10. Krimson Haze says:

Well said coach. Can’t believe this happened. Tell your loved ones you love them everyday because things can change in an instant. Prayers to the victims and to the Ruggs family.
