“So you’re saying the Rescue Rangers are back?” YES! Chip ’n Dale: #RescueRangers, an Original movie, streaming May 20 on @DisneyPlus.

“Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” stars John Mulaney (“Saturday Night Live”) as Chip, Andy Samberg (“Palm Springs”) as Dale, and KiKi Layne (“If Beale Street Could Talk”). Also joining the cast are Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”), Eric Bana (“Dirty John”), Flula Borg (“Pitch Perfect 2”), Dennis Haysbert (“24”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Schmigadoon!”), Tress MacNeille (“The Simpsons”), Tim Robinson (“I Think You Should Leave”), Seth Rogen (“Pam and Tommy”), J.K. Simmons (“Being the Ricardos”), Chris Parnell (“Saturday Night Live”). The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer (“Saturday Night Live”), written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), and is produced by Todd Lieberman (“Wonder”) and David Hoberman (“Beauty and the Beast”), with Alexander Young (“Extinction”) and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

In “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip (voice of Mulaney) has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale (voice of Sandberg), meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former castmate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.

This movie is gonna be either an absolute masterpiece or a miserable trainwreck. There is no in between for projects like this

2:05 That was so hilarious, I wish the coincidental same time talking exists in us.

This still looks like it’s going to be a blast! It’s pretty much the closest thing we have to a Roger Rabbit sequel and I’m all in for it!

This movie looks like a real celebration of all things animated, and I love it so much! I’m definitely watching this!

    • Mick Mons says:

@DrDewott I disagree with it looking good, it reeks of cash grab and minimum effort.

    • DrDewott says:

@Mick Mons Fair enough, but it honestly seems like these people producing this at Lonely Island know what they’re doing, and from what I’ve heard they have a fairly good track record. So I have faith in this project. Just probably on a smaller budget than hoped for, and Chip and Dale probably weren’t the go to picks for this. I mean it definitely seems like a project that would’ve suited characters like say Warner Bros. “Animaniacs” more, but it still looks really good imo.

@Martha Gilbert I can as well, now that you mention it.

Roger Rabbit was my first though as well! Though using already estabilished characters this time is… Risky. Very risky.

    • Jason King says:

There were 3 Roger Rabbit sequels and prequels that got close to being made over the last 30+ years. The big issue is there’s so many big studios involved that there’s no way the movie could turn a profit.

This movie feels like a fever dream and I’m all for it

  5. David Emanuel Rosini says:

I am so watching this. This is a modern-day Roger Rabbit-type crossover, with Roger cameoing himself, that I’ve been waiting for!

@Tiffany-Chan123 i love lonely island too from SNL and i think it is going to do very good id never ever hate CDRR

    • Tiffany-Chan123 says:

Honestly I am too! Even if it turns out to be bad, it will be lovably bad, a movie you love to hate.

      Also Lonely Island are amazing

@Reyes Ghost R i think they will she was also greatly referenced in the movie Valerian the city of a Thousand planets she might not have been in toon form but pretty super close in human form the scene where Valerian recruits the help of Bubble the changeling thats why im hoping this CDRR movie does very well so they can bring back so much more

    • The Scarlet Slayer says:

@Reyes Ghost R modern media doesnt have the guts

  6. SliceTube says:

If Michael Bolton isn’t at the comic con scene dressed as Jack Sparrow, we riot but also seriously this movie looks insane I’ve never even watched the original cartoon but I’m so excited!!!

  7. Gabriel 1805 says:

The Cgi surgery is probably one of my favorite part about this.
It’s a pretty cool explanation to how characters have changed over the years.

  8. Bobster says:

This sounds like an interesting idea for a Disney Movie! I love the different art styles used and characters

  9. W.A J says:

Looks surprisingly good for a straight to streaming movie.

    • DrDewott says:

Yeah! I think that’s also one thing people seem to not really consider when complaining about the CG 2D and stuff like that. Disney may have big funds but they still won’t hand out loads for every single thing. And like you said, for a straight to streaming movie, and certainly a side project, this looks really good quality wise!

  10. EPICMAN 3D says:

I’m either going to obviously love this movie or hate it to death.
    Can’t wait to find out!
