I feel like I heard this story before…

  2. DrEnzyme says:

Did you give your tickets away so someone else could see Hamilton?

  3. Lee Spitzer says:

John, you described the condition that I have. I thought it was
    Gastro-esophical reflux disease.

I think that was one of the best stories I’ve ever heard. Thanks for
sharing those words, John. (Side note: I’m a med student and I had a
lecture on eosinophilic esophagitis today at 1pm, then came home later and
watched this while eating dinner and promptly flipped out lol.)

I was in tears. Thank you and I am thankful that I “have my bases coved”
    too. All the best, always.

  8. Lumos says:

I’m going to make a sign that says “I’ve got the basics covered” and hang
it on my door because that is hands down the most helpful thing I’ve heard
in a long time. Thank you Carmen! (and thank you John!)

“…I had to wake up at 5:10 in the morning to go to a spin class.” My
first thought was that sounds terrible, having to wake up as early as 5:10.
Then I remembered that I wake up at 5:45 for school every weekday. Maybe
when I’m a parent my kids will have school that doesn’t start so early.

I’m glad that he wasn’t talking about the Pence-Hamilton ordeal. I am not
sure which way to think about it.

  11. Jonathan Mulzer says:

Am I the only person that gets annoyed when I hear the word “privilege”
    used the way he does?

  12. Kevin Cote says:

I have eosinophilic esophagitus too and it sucks

As someone also heavily betrayed by my body (in a wheelchair), annnnnd a
survivor of organized child abuse…I can wholeheartedly attest that the
kindness of strangers, nurses and anyone even loosely related to the
medical or mental health field *means everything*. It makes so many of
these horrible things that I’m already used to coping with like a champ SO
much easier and bearable. It can even make something that was once bad,
actually a GOOD experience. It doesn’t take away the bad parts, but
replaces them with more good than bad, and infinitely more good that was
    *expected*.
I’m thankful for people LIKE Carmen and all the friendly and helpful faces
that choose levity when my whole world is falling apart.

This video is not the video I expected to see when I read the title but I
am no less satisfied by the content, this year as I have been the last few
years I am thankful for the Vlogbrothers.

  16. Lauren Nicole says:

This video made me feel warm and happy inside :)

  17. Steve Harrison says:

He used “privilege” the right way this time. Good job, John. This is the
first Vlogbrothers video I’ve liked in a long time.

  18. Hannah Fry says:

I am thankful for you, John! 🙂 Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
