Paramore have always been political but this song really marks their stand on performative and exploitative activism on social media, money-grab petitions, and the dangerously manipulative agenda-setting of the news. Thank you so much for this song. You never disappoint.
@frail void Eloquently said. There are positive AND negative aspects to everything. Understanding that almost nothing on this planet exists in absolutes is a concept many ppl struggle with.
@frail void Yeah, that’s the idea I was trying to express but since this is a space for quick comments, I think I wasn’t clear enough. Recently there’s a trend to say agendas are a bad thing coming from people that love to brag about not having the said agendas. People that love saying they don’t follow any ideology while not following an ideology is an ideology itself. This is the kind of thing I was trying to address.

@Not Me paramore has never claimed to be “rage against the machine”. they clearly have strong political biases. that is my exact point. punks are not centrists so that already eliminates any point you’re attempting to make. to say a true punk is a centrist is the dumbest take i have ever heard. they have extreme thoughts and feelings (HEAVILY far left wing ideology based) however the main difference is they do not agree with the establishment or political candidates at all.
Same as This is Why, I’ve played over a dozen times. As always, Ms. Williams vocals give me goosebumps, something she has not ceased to be able to do since 2005. Much love guys.
