This is one of those cases where they did pretty right by this guy. Sure he could try to sell it on his own, but it’s not that easy. The guy could have wound up with 24K, but instead 11K over and the Rickster will hopefully make a nice chunk all said and done.

    • GetmeoutofSanFrancisco says:

The good thing about bullion (such as gold) is that you can walk right up in a pawn shop and get paid spot price if the pawnshop is worth its name.

Once you add in “shipwreck pirate treasure” the only way value ($) can go is up.

    • Nick Levo says:

Selling gold is the easiest thing to do. LITERALLY (and I don’t mean it in the valley girl blonde use of it). I’m guessing you mean it’d be difficult to get $35k. Again, I have to disagree 100%. It’s a fair deal for both of them for sure, but in no way did he do him a “favor” saving him the trouble of finding a buyer.

    • claysmell says:

@Nick Levo The guy didn’t know it was shipwreck gold. At least that’s the way they staged the scene.

  10. Jacob Frye says:

Let’s be honest here. Everyone’s favourite part of the video is when he “calls a buddy of his”

    • john o says:

As soon as the government did that gold went to $30 a ounce. What a scam on the American people.

    • Nayan Nbg says:

@john o Really! Sounds like a legal robbery

    • john o says:

@Nayan Nbg you only faced 10 years in prison and or a $10,000 fine if you didnt comply.

    • Nayan Nbg says:

@john o with a lot of gold 10000$ fine sounds more reasonable, I mean if they allow to keep the gold. How easy for them to say hand me all your gold or you will be punished

    • john o says:

@Nayan Nbg that was $10,000 in 1933 dollars in 2021 that would be the equivalent of a fine of $198,000 and also possibly 10 years on federal prison.

  16. Craig Bradfield says:

Cleaning out grandma’s house I happened to find a gold bar from a ship wreck, nothing suspicious there happens all the time. Just last week I was at my grandma’s house and found the hope diamond under the couch. Has to be more to it,

  17. FinnishArmy says:

Pay me the $35k in crypto so I can avoid the taxes.

  19. Mike Pol says:

“Best I can do is a couple bucks and a half eaten pack of gum”

    • Erina Nagasawa says:

Sure, u can take your best offer and shove it.

The only time gold drops its value to that low is during times of famine

  20. Hans Moleman Productions says:

He couldn’t grab that bar fast enough with his fat hands
