AMERICAN IDOL, the iconic series that revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the music competition genre, returns on ABC.
American Idol 2023
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are music industry forces and superstar judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Emmy® Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest continues as host of the beloved series, for the historic 21st season.
Aside from Cam’s beautiful rendition of this song, I appreciated even more how Lionel recognized the need for a *hug* and immediately stood up to walk over and give one. The consistent acknowledgement of humanity is a big part of what makes this group of judges so special. ❤️
I totally agree with you.
These judges are so human. American Idol is so worth watching now cause they treat people with so much honor
😢😢😢
totally agree! in some of these auditions these group of judges manages to give even the most heartbreaking news for an aspiring singer to hear in the most gentle & compassionate way. This is really what draw me about American idol.
He took me to church.
Hallelujah!
Bless who read this 🙏
I’ve heard many people sing this song, but Cam sang this song with Everything in him & I felt it! Blessings to him!
I lost my mom to suicide at 18 and got guardianship of my lil brothers. I could feel those tears in my BONES. I wish you the world, man! You’re going far. Don’t let ANYTHING hold you back!
Bless your soul Amanda..!! This guy got me, his life story, his voice, his humble and contrite spirit and the soul.. I want to see him go straight to the top..!!
Wow I’m sorry
Prayers to you and your brother 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Sorry to hear!
Bless you and your remarkable strength, for experiencing that kind of loss, and stepping up to raise your brothers.
This show has come so far. What was a competition spearheaded by a bullying judge is now a celebration of humanity. Is is a joy to witness such talent and to cheer these young people on. ❤
Katy, Lionel and Luke are life savers. This young man raised his siblings so young and God paid him back platinum style. I am sure his brother and sister will be cheering him on.
THE JUDGES R AWESOME BUT ITS FATHER GOD WHO CAMS LIFESAVER
Well said! So worthy‼️Its “HIS” time. Hallelujah!! ❤🙏🫶🎶
Okay yeah dang! I totally see why he got the platinum ticket! His vibrato is ridiculous. Also, those cries in his voice just hit you right in the heart! Just dirty!!!🔥! His runs were great too, but his vibrato gives me Chris Stapleton! He’s a mix of Chris and John Legend for me, but even more range on the top! This season is crazy!!
John Legend! Frfr
Holyyy Molly I totally heard the John Legand but your soooo right with the mix of Chris Stapleton! Deep emotional feel with every note! Good call! I definitely hope he wins it!🙏❤️
I can definitely hear John Legend. Hopefully, some day, we’ll be saying this new singer sounds like Cam Amen. ❤
He is miles above Chris S in voice and likability to listen to. .
This was moving. He bared his soul on that stage. He sings with pain & beauty. He moved me tears. Easily top 3
My tears just start dropping from the moment he open his mouth. His voice cuts through. Best delivery of the song ❣️
The song choice was perfect. The pain in his voice was real. The lyrics meant something to him and they connected him deeply to the audience. Life handed him something worse than lemons and he has conquered it. Good for him. And good for his girlfriend to recognize the person he is.
