I love their friendship so much. They may not be compatible as lovers but I think they’d be great friends

  2. D3th Tr4p says:

The casting is just extremely solid. Emma D‘Arcy as Rhaenyra looks so similar to her mother, Aemma, played by Sian Brooke 👌

  3. Sarah Nour says:

I love the friendship/partnership between Rhaenyra and Laenor. They support and accept each other, and Laenor seems like a proud dad despite knowing the kids aren’t his. They truly made the best of their situation.

  4. Running with scissors says:

That is an awesome single shot scene. The skill of the cast and crew really shines.

    • FACTS FEED says:

      @Romil in single shot scenes.
Everything has to be well. Like camerawork is also a thing.
But actors and even the side actor

    • FACTS FEED says:

      @Spencer Wattamaniuk is it?
      I’m hyped.

    • Han Solo says:

      Its not 0:33 swipe cut.

    • Romil says:

What? Yes it’s a single-shot scene, but how is it “awesome”? There’s nothing special about it except that the camera doesn’t cut

    • Joseph Jackson says:

I gotta say it isnt that impressive as a single shot in terms of cinematography. There are barely any moving parts beyond the focal characters. It IS well-acted and shot, and does a lot to show the change in relationship between Rhaenyra and Alicent as well as Rhaenyra and Laenor, but as a continuous scene alone its pretty bland

  5. Olivia Carter says:

When Laenor said “what could she possibly want, I thought we were past this”- I think this is a hint that Laenor accepts Rhaenyra’s kids as his own. Hes always recognized those boys as his own regardless of what people says. That makes me LOVE Laenor so much 😢

  6. MaverickLotus says:

There’s this brief moment when even through her pain, she looks down at her baby and smiles. ❤

    • natalia solomakha says:

Yep, same here, noticed this immediately. Emma is great

    • Hypatia says:

@bibimbap Cercei thinks she loves her children the best way possible in the same way she thinks that she is really clever. You know, Tywin Lannister says Cercei in the third season that she is not as clever as she thinks. This also applies the true nature of her love towards her little lion cubs. A parent who truly loves her/his children tries so hard to raise them as proper individuals. Even if her children have innately illborn or deficient sides in their nature, Joffrey’s vile behaviours and Tommen&Mrycella’s weakness are also results of Cercei’s bad parenting and incapable mentorship. She inflicts her children what is right for her mindset (because she proudly assumes that her mindset is ideal enough), not what is really needed to be a decent person.
In contrast, as far as I understand from the book, Rhaenyra does tries to raise her sons to be decent and capable inividuals, soldiers and politicans. All of her sons are mentally normal and behaviorally moderate boys (even the most broken son of hers is not a maniac, just melancholic due to the tragedies he experienced in childhood).
But yes, like Rhaenyra Cercei loves power very much. However, Cercei has no actual right to obtain the power she wants. She is a mere lady and a queen consort/dowager queen regent, not a princess or a queen regnant. But unlike Cercei, the power is legally promised to Rhaenyra not as a result of her manipulative plans but by her father The King’s free will. So, Rhaenyra who already loves the power does not defy her father’s decision, why would she?

Cercei is a useless toxic mother while Rhaenyra is a good mother (as far as I understand from the books and GOT show). However, both of them are terrible politicians.

    • bibimbap says:

@Christine Fischer she only loves her children and the throne. Very similar to Queen Cersei

    • 96Jazangel says:

@no actually there’s a shot of the bub blinking.

    • Débora Cardoso says:

@no What did you expect? Can you imagine that if she dropped the baby on the floor? How would it be?

  7. butera grande says:

Alicent is so horrible for this. Asking for a woman to move for her own “satisfaction” when she went through the same???? And she knew how Rhaenyra’s mother died.

    • Mohd Bashir says:

@Keinyii Gerard Not true, even on his death king declared Rhaenyra as his heir. And she does rule as a queen for few years until her death and eventually Rhaenyra’s son sits on throne after aegon

    • Shaney Hwang says:

@Coco Noisette in one of the other previews, the kids had brown hair so they’re def not laenor’s

    • Jacinta says:

@Final Arbitrator he doesn’t have a right to the throne. There is no law, only precedent set one generation before that males inherit. And Viserys declared Rhaenyra his heir so Aegon definitely doesn’t have any right to the throne.

    • Jacinta says:

@Keinyii Gerard it wasn’t a law, just precedent. The king declared Rhaenyra his heir and the lords swore an oath to that. Going against it afterward means they are betraying their sworn oath.

    • Ronak Bunch says:

@That mean person online offended me If you are hating on Alicent and Supporting other, you are obviously not familiar with Game of Thrones.

  8. You stupid fucking dinosaur says:

I love Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra here. They portray her so well. The dry wit and tenacity in her voice even after going through childbirth and the way Laenor supports her, I love that.
    Also I’m already Team Black.

    • NotAGoodUsername 360 says:

Shireen didn’t burn for people to actually take a side on the Dance.

“Choosing a side was the whole problem.”

    • keshav prakash says:

Support to team greens, the rightful heir king ageon of house targeryan second of his name

    • Eiji says:

@Stephanie maybe those who hadn’t read the book can also watch the animated shorts on YouTube depicting all the major events of The Dance of Dragons… just saying

    • Lola Blake says:

@Giantrobby Rhaenera doesent get to be queen but her son with her uncle daemon gets to be king.

    • Jax Jaeger says:

@Mas Salleh that’s good that’s ur opinion, I am Team Green despite knowing neither side is good and because I like complicated characters more

  9. FieryReborn2001 says:

Rhaenyra and Laenor seem to have one of the healthiest marriages. He’s so supportive of her.

  10. JohnnyUtah says:

I genuinely look forward each week to sitting down and watching this each Sunday night. That is rare these days with all the garbage that is put out and how streaming changed the game. This has become appointment television again. Props to HBO and the writers and everyone involved. Please keep this up.

    • sims2lovealot says:

Yes! This is the first time in a long long time where I’ve actually felt excited to watch a new episode of a show every week. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I’ve been this invested in a tv show.

    • Jack Connell says:

@Boulbi Boulga we are supporting him, by watching the show. Not everyone has the time or care to read the books.

    • JohnnyUtah says:

@Boulbi Boulga For sure. Read all the books. Definitely worth it.

    • JohnnyUtah says:

      @Chimera’s Flame 💯
