call backs and easter eggs mean nothing when the rest of the movie looks like trash.

How? They already screwed the story and screwed over Jill Valentine. Chris and Claire do not meet until Code Veronica. Chris and Jill try to expose Umbrella but were censored. And almost none of the actors look like the characters they are supposed to be play. Luis is cosplaying as Leon in this movie.

So Claire is the main character in this one, huh? She propels the plot for everyone else? I think it was a mistake to do both the mansion and Racoon City in the same film. Each have such a memorable location to be used for a single film’s setting.
probably knew they werent getting their money back and not getting a sequel so just did it all at once, worlds of final fantasy did it by using stuff saved for a sequel they knew they wuodlnt get.
i understand your point but i gotta say the plot twist of claire knowing something weird with raccoon city and she is after them is amazing!! i love the plot twist as they kept true to the story of resident evil .. thats something i want since i know how the game story goes..
I think it’s better to do both just because the mansion would be to short for a single film and they would have to bloat a movie on the mansion up way to much. That being said A movie just based on the second game would be much more doable

Cramming 3 games in 1 movie (that will probably be around 90 minutes) is never a good idea.
